In spring everything is pure…Yesterday I met this beautiful demoiselle. In silence he watched me passing by.

I have been nominated by my friend Sue, at WordsVisual, to take part in a challenge of a photo per day for seven days, of anything from the natural world. And every day I should nominate a new member.
On my last day, I must tell you the truth – nothing in Nature is more dear to me than ”my own” forest. The paths I walk every day, sitting under the giant beech tree, nodding to My Old Friend when passing – in whatever costume he greets me. I may travel the world and enjoy its beauty – but This, is my home.
Today, my last entry, Day Seven. Again, I would like to nominate all my followers and readers who love Nature and feel they can find time and joy in participating in 7-day Nature Photo. Again, my heartfelt thank you to all of you – and to Mother Nature.

Cypripedium calceolus is a lady’s-slipper orchid growing wild in Sweden, and very much unlike other wild orchids here. This photo is from a very dear friend’s garden – I got the opportunity to photograph the entire garden last summer. Magnificent species.
Today I would like to nominate photographer and blogger Robert Weir at Clicking through the bucket list to take part in the 7-day Nature Photo. He is a brilliant photographer and a worldwide traveller. I would love to see what he might come up with for this challenge….. though I am not sure there is spare time enough for this busy man. If not – no worries, Robert, I am only glad to rekommend your blog to other bloggers!

We are on the same beach as in the last post – not fast moving…but too fast for me. I tripped over the debris lying around here (As this is a Nature Reserve, nothing is to be moved) and went heavily down in the sand. Groan. Must have been fun for anyone looking…but I was alone. My right hand high up in the air, holding the camera – trying to save it from a sand burial.
All went well, but I just had to take a shot at the one who landed here before me…

Another challenge from Otto v M – know the rules and then break them. Conclusion from me: They are easily broken – but not all in the same photo…Click here for more tries!
In Photography and the Art of Seeing, Freeman Patterson recommends writing down a list of rules we assume to be true of photography… and then break them. Here are ten rules that recur repeatedly:
1) Focus on the centre of interest.
2) Fill the frame with the subject.
3) Do not shoot between 10 am and 3 pm (the light is too harsh).
4) Don’t shoot against the light.
5) Hold the camera steady.
6) Follow the rule of third, e.g. 1/3 sky and 2/3 land or vice versa.
7) Obey the light meter.
8) Photograph children (or pets) at their own eye level.
9) Avoid lens flare when shooting against the sun.
10) Keep the camera level with the horizon.
Before I get to the challenge, I need to tell a saying we have in Scandinavia about the differences between the countries when it comes to rules. Do you know what separates Swedes, Danes and Norwegian from one another? The Swedes follow the rules, the Danes don’t give a damn about rules, and the Norwegians break the rules.
As the good Norwegian I am the challenge will be in accordance with my inherent being: How many of those previous mentioned rules can you break in one picture? Like last time, post a link to the photo here in a comment, and I will pick up the photo and showcase it in a later post.
I look forward to seeing your photos.
A challenge from Otto vM…the idea is to break as many of these ”rules” as possible. Here’s mine for the try! Conclusion: It seems impossible to break them all in one photo…but many are possible.
