Ailsa’s theme this week is Illuminated
– and that is what you could say about Cervantes and his heroes Don Quijote and Sancho Panza in Madrid. Walking home a soft night, we lingered here for at least an hour. Peaceful. He lives on into the future, standing illuminated against a modernistic building.
There’s always a possibility that we finally will have some snow this winter…
It would slow Totti down a bit…
For more and other possibilities, go to Ailsa’s place!
Birds are magnificent creatures – and who would not want to be able to fly? Birds are generally difficult to catch on a photo, but sometimes I’m lucky. Some of my best opportunities for photography was at Walsrode this summer, where I had a wonderful day together with my dear old friend, Anita, at the worlds’ biggest bird park in Germany.
So, Birds is the travel theme, and I will mix Walsrode with my own garden and Scarborough.
And I can assure you… Håkan sounds exactly like a duck…Totti loves him. When Totti was newly arrived 5 years ago he had a ”Håkan” in his mouth – a toy rabbit. Unfortunatley Mille got hold of Håkan several times and there wasn’t much left of him after some weeks. Finally Santa brought Totti a new Håkan this Christmas! What joy!

So far this year, there is no real winter here in Skane, Sweden – there is no snow. There is not even frost and it’s not remotely close to zero degrees C. Last year is another story…winter was upon us in early December and lasted for several months, in fact it was one of the ”worst ”winters ever when it comes to snow, cold and endurance…
I will have to use those lovely memories from last year, Ailsa, to really show Winter.
In the still of the night…Midsummer’s Eve 2013.
Still waiting for something Still? Go to Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack? for more of it.
Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack? wants us to show some symbols... This one has a funny story – at least for me. The thing is, that when you often see a certain symbol for something you easily get ”stuck” with its meaning. Everybody knows what this sign means. In Scarborough I was told another one…a much more funny and inventive one. Maybe you all knew it before, but I certainly did not. This is, a man struggling with an umbrella.
Ailsa has given us a new brilliant task – to show Sky. The sky is the limit and the inspiration. Constantly changing and enigmatic.
Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack? gives us all the opportunity to be Short this week…so, here are my contributions:
This spring was very, very short this year – and so were the stems of the small, daring daffodils trying to survive in the frozen surroundings.
I have had a couple of dachshund ”ladies” in my life, but unfortunately their legs are too short and their back too long. One of them got paralysed because of this. They always had to be carried when we were hiking too. Very sweet dogs, but a bit too stubborn for my taste perhaps… This beautiful gentleman I met in a park in Madrid.
My son on his first visit to China! Beside this giant of a warrior he felt a bit short…
“The earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons and daughters of the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected.”
Chief Seattle
Ailsa’s theme this week is about connections. Today we tend to make connections without being physical…technology is our guru. But the natural way, the way it was meant to be, hopefully glows from the other photos in this gallery.
If we totally forget that all things are connected – our species, and every living being on Earth, is doomed.
