Orange is beautiful and oranges are tasty. My choices for this challenge are some of my favourite oranges…

As usual my pot plants get some new soil and some grooming this week in February. But, this year I had to take down one of the big Monstera Deliciosas – it had grown to the ceiling. This weekend I happened to have dinner with some of my old friends who worked together a long time ago in the same building (it does not exist any more) where I got those Monsteras as cuttings, some 38 years ago…So, now I decided to divide my Monstera into big enough pieces to plant, and then hand them out to my friends. A living memory from days gone by.
Of course I have to show some of the orchids starting now – mostly phalaenopsis. In some weeks there will hopefully be more of them – two cattleyas are budding and more phalaenopsis.
I searched my house for Romance – I didn’t have to travel far away…
And here it is…
…the road to my Heart
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Ailsa’s travel theme this week is all about Yellow!
As I suffer severely from the darkness, the loss of daylight and the constant grey drizzle this winter, I decided to make a post of the short rays of light on the latest days’ walks. Maybe there are more of us who need some light – I hope you will enjoy them!
Suddenly there was a short glimpse of sunlight on these beautiful straws, resting by my path in the soft wind.
This broken twig, and its bright lichen, caught my eye inside the forest. Hit by a tiny ray, it lay glowing on the dark ground.
A dark green candle provides the soft light of my evenings.
This years’ fiery Christmas flower in my home is a colourful Hippeastrum called ”La Paz”.
May the light be with you all!
The word Layers is a very useful word, so many interpretations are possible here. I picked what first came to mind: Flowers and stone.
Ranunculus is a wonderful species, to which also ordinary buttercups belong. But this one, above, is one of the most beautiful specimens I have put in a vase on my table. Its delicate layers in yellow and orange nuances speaks to my senses as few others do.
In the mountains you sometimes come across beautiful coloured layers created thousands of years ago. And if you get the chance to get a close-up, they can seem almost like a rainbow.
See more Layers of beauty here.
So, I’m late, but Ailsa’s Delicate maybe is not too late! And, the flowers in my garden – for them, resting and waiting is a delicate matter…
In every respect, these photos are the closest I get in representing The Hue of Me. Colour, motif, light, time of the day. They also represent my greatest Love – Nature.
