Thursday Thoughts – Framed

Why do many/most people like…frames? (Or maybe not?) And what defines a frame?

This window photo displays some frames – photographed when I was looking out of my own hotel window. I like it, despite its drabness and ordinariness.

Many city windows look just like the one above…or like this one…

But a frame does not have to look like a window frame or a door frame…or a painting frame – it can be…different.

How many frames can you find in this photo?

And frames can be – very different!

It can stare at you in night light…

…or give you an irregular, sunlit moment.

So – what do you think about frames? Are you a compulsive frame user, or not? Do we need them at all?

Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge: In the Distance

I guess Cee’s In the Distance also applies to a less open landscape. A glimpse of …something at the end of the path.

Fire and Sand

Tonight I learned that the special light today – the sun never came through and it had a strange orange shine – originated from the effects of the fires in Spain/Portugal, like sand from Northern Africa.

I had brought my camera, heading for the forest, for some last shots of the autumn leaves – but the morning resulted in these shots of the unusual phenomenon. Not very clear or bright, but you can even see orange glittering water!

Black&White Sunday: Shape

Paula, at Lost in Translation, asks us for a black and white shape, this Sunday. I hope it is OK with two. From an outdoor exhibition where the artist’s name was missing.

Thursday Thoughts – Avenues

Avenues…trees. In spring, summer, autumn or winter… They inspire and give comfort. The closeness, the narrow path or road in between…

They make me – they force me – to stop and feel the athmosphere, take a photo, enjoy.

I love all constellations. firs, pine trees, birches, aspen, oak trees… I do not have to walk in there, I am completely satisfied with standing still, breathing the air and the feeling…

IMG_20170105_153159_processed…letting my imagination run free. How do you feel?

Can I please come in for a crash landing…

Dear Jo, I wanted to create a Monday Walk post…but now my computer is in for a total crash. In fact it is half way through. Fortunately I had a vague feeling this would soon happen…so I bought a new computer two weeks ago. But I think it is very troublesome to start up a new computer with new programmes and new ways of using them…So first,

I ventured out of my sick bed yesterday and as the sun was shining, I really tried to enjoy my walk. Coughing and dragging my weary body through the forest….collecting some pictures for you… before I slumped back into bed…totally exhausted. Hope you will enjoy them;-D

Thursday Thoughts

On my way to Varekai – Cirque Soleil. Hopefully an evening of wonders, colours, beauty, laughs and good food.

Have a great Thursday all – My thoughts also go to all those people waiting for Irma. Take care.

September Feelings

Totti and I walked the familiar track in the Vedema forest. Some trees were taken down, which made it a bit difficult to recognize the path. Still warm in the air, but autumn signs were everywhere.  A fine day.

What is Your Story?

This is still one of my my favourite stories – (and favourite characters…) and so it was for my children as well. I guess most of you know them…? How do you remember their impact if you read them as a child?
