Partners for WordPress – Midsummer’s Eve is of course the perfect day to spend with your partner.
Whether it might be shoes and feet…or maybe gloves and hands –
(Or maybe you will find another partner in these shots as well…)
But, in the end, the traditional Partner.
Don’t Tell Me Grey is Only Grey
In Sweden we use the word ”grey”about things old, dull and dark. A grey day, a grey future, everything looks grey, an old and grey lady or gentleman.
But, the colour grey is just as much a perfect contrasting colour…
as a beautiful colour in its own right. Not only ”only”…

Celebrating Mother at Hovdala Castle
A nice lunch at the restaurant and then a stroll in the beautiful surroundings was perfect for my mother’s 81st birthday.
We were lucky with the weather…
…and with roses and poppies as well.
The conservatory has been restored over the years, and is now a building used for exhibitions as well as wedding ceremonies.
Inside is a cool, white dream.
My mother was happy today – and so were we.

In spring everything is pure…Yesterday I met this beautiful demoiselle. In silence he watched me passing by.

Thursday Thoughts
For almost a week now we have had extremely hot weather in the south of Sweden. And we know that last year was the hottest ever here – and on Earth.
Of course this gives us wonderful mornings – and evenings. Something to be grateful for.
But, northeners are not made for this. Our bodies protest. The evening walk with my dog cannot start until 7.30 p.m. He is not well prepared for the heat either (he did not come with a zipper…) – 33.5 C yesterday.
This is the end of May and the beginning of June. If we ever have those high temperatures, then it might happen some day in July or August.
It is beautiful, it is a wonderful evening by the sea, but it feels neither real nor all right.
Today we are having the biggest migration of people – ever – in Europe, and what will these climate changes bring? Yes, even more migration…people trying to save what is left of their lives and trying to get a new start, a new life, somewhere else. Some islands have already disappeared.
This is only the beginning of the end.

Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge: Close-ups
Last year I got 11 tulip bulbs from a dear friend and plant expert. Maybe some of you know about ”the little man” and his concerns for ”my” forest and all its inhabitants. He and his wife have travelled the world, collecting memories and rare plants for decades..Now they are too old to travel, but enjoy their wonderful ”Dream garden”.
What a great gift! You can understand how humble and careful I was when planting and tending to these tulips. They are very rare, and one single bulb costs more than 10GBP or 15USD. I still wonder how they could trust me with them…
This week, they shimmer like gems in my garden. Clear red with yellow petals surrounding…and here is a close-up on one of them, in B&W.

Poppy Love
In my garden I suddenly had a couple of poppies…coming from nowhere, they were just there.
This year there are quite many of them, and I love to sit down beside their nodding heads and watch them unfold…
…admiring their fragile beauty.
