Travel theme: Camaraderie

Ailsa wants us to show camaraderie – and I agree that this is what we need to see and hear in the tough world of today.

When my daughter, Emma, turned 25 this autumn we all went to our closest outdoor exposition, held at Wanås Castle.

Walking behind them through the park and listening to their conversation (I had permission…) I felt the usual gratefulness of having these two fine youngsters around me.

From the start, she would set the pace and he would follow…

But today they are equals – only two years between them. They support each other through thick and thin, through darkness and light, and have never fought over anything. Sometimes they seem to be enveloped in their own world in subjects I know nothing about. But I do  hope – and believe – they will continue on this road of camaraderie.

Two friends for life – my beloved son and daughter.

Golden Day – Clouds Rising!

Yesterday’s drizzle finally brought out the sun. The first time this Autumn, and Glorious.

This walk in Vedema I usually do two times a year – Spring and Autumn.

Each season has its glory…in little things too.

Seing the sun again made my heart sing with every autumn leaf, fruit and berry…

…every spider’s web and pearl of dew.

The trees rejoiced in showing off their splendid grace and colours.

On reaching the lake, I began to realize what was waiting behind the trees, and there it was, the hidden glory unveiled…

A wonderful ending of the walk, and I can leave for China tomorrow –  full of expectations and so grateful for this day!

See you in two weeks.

Drizzle Dreams

Should i go out today…? I never have to wonder – I have got Totti, my lagotto.

Some days I wish I did not have to, but…often you will find yourself in another mood, in another weather. in other thoughts.

Even if I walk the same paths as the day before…

…I will find new views and new thoughts will enter my mind.

During the walk, the drizzle speeded up, and darkness laid a soft filter on everything.

Larchtree gold is shimmering…

…and grass is bathing in diamonds.

There is a special light in the darkness…

…and a soft forgiveness in the silence.

An Autumn walk with my family.

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: What Is Beautiful To You

I will start and end with my fondest beauties, forests/trees and flowers/plants. Then, a gallery of some more…

Copenhagen – Art, Down Under and Above

A trip to Copenhagen is never wrong – this time again with Viveka at myguiltypleasures. She has already written an interesting post on this, but I cannot resist doing one as well. I will do it My way – so, hopefully you will get a full report reading both!

This time Cisternerne, the Cisterns, the old water system, was to be visited.

Ingvar Cronhammar and Martin Hall are the artists behind this.

In the open air again – much warmer and less damp. First, a short rest, and then…

…we walked the majestic avenues of trees, where we met old and young,

…and many sweet dogs!

Impressive trees in even rows as well as standing alone

The Norwegian Cottage harmonized well with its surroundings

Suddenly a beautiful young couple floated by, with a photographer trailing behind. Making their day an eternal memory.

All this, of course, made us ready for some tasty food. In the company of a chef I trust, I chose a classic Danish ”Frokost”. And at the railwaystation we finished the day off with a ”Kartoffelkage”.

Today was a good day.

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Trees

What trees and what forest could be more suitable for a dreamy memory than the one where Frodo and his faithful companions could be found? New Zealand, Wellington.
