I sommarstaden Karlskrona ligger en berömd holme med kolonilotter – Brändaholm. Till sommarrutinerna för vår familj hör att göra ett besök där och njuta av dockhusglädjen.
Allting strålar och blomstrar därute, även människorna. Enligt turistinformationen är detta förmodligen landets vackraste koloniområde, med 45 små stugor på en liten, liten holme i Karlskrona skärgård. Tyvärr är det nästan omöjligt att köpa en stuga där. Du måste bland annat vara skriven i Karlskrona.
Brändaholm is said to be the most beautiful place in Sweden for allotment-garden cottages. What do you think?
It’s almost impossible to become the happy owner of one of those 45 cottages, because you have to live in Karlskrona. Most cottages are inherited or sold privately.

Yes, the people seemed very happy, sitting in their gardens sipping coffee. All elderly with white hair…A fairytale retirement.

we have been to Karlskrona and admired some beautiful little coattges there ,,, maybe these were the ones! we also liked the colours the houses in town were painted … all so colourful 🙂
Yes, Karlskrona is very beautiful. Architecture and colours – and of course lying so close to the sea.

They are very beautiful. Is an allotment-garden cottage only used in the summer?
Yes, only in the summer – but, some may have been prepared for use in winter too. The people who own them live in Karlskrona only a kilometre away maybe, so these tiny cottages are situated quite close.
How lovely to have a wee cottage like that close to where one lives.
Indeed. Most people who have cottages like this here, have some miles to drive to get there.

It is. Many people walk out there from the harbour in Karlskrona.

What I think …. beautiful … but they don’t beat ours … here in Landskrona and ours are older – oldest in Sweden. But of course so close to the ocean is hard to beat – and your photos make them justice. Only walked there once and in the winter. This is so pretty … Sweden at it’s best side. Like a fairy tale.
