The word Layers is a very useful word, so many interpretations are possible here. I picked what first came to mind: Flowers and stone.
Ranunculus is a wonderful species, to which also ordinary buttercups belong. But this one, above, is one of the most beautiful specimens I have put in a vase on my table. Its delicate layers in yellow and orange nuances speaks to my senses as few others do.
In the mountains you sometimes come across beautiful coloured layers created thousands of years ago. And if you get the chance to get a close-up, they can seem almost like a rainbow.

Nice. Your mountain pictures made me miss the mountains and high deserts of Utah where I spent so many years. That colorful seam in the mountain is really striking. I assume the closeup was of that seam?
It was. Incredibly beautiful colours – couldn’t resist.
Love the mountain layers of color. Different minerals? What mountain range? Great photo!
Different minerals I guess. This is Gran Canaria.
Love them all! Although the ranunculus leads by a small margin 🙂
Mmm, thank you, Madhu. That flower I would like to have on my table all year around if I could.
Your ranunculus flower definitely deserved to be admired close up Ann Christine with it’s luminous colours and the lighting there.
Those rock layers are eye catching !
Thank you, Poppy! When you have to drive several miles for this rock and you can see it from every bend of the road – without reaching it…then it feels good when your destination is as beautiful as you had imagined.
ah how lovely ! somethings are definitely worth waiting for 🙂
🙂

Perfect post and I love the Ranunculus! I wish I had more sunny windows !
Thank you so much – it would have been nice to grow them, but it seems to be very difficult.
I did years ago. More sunny west exposure windows then !
Lucky you who managed at least once…
Yes those and some lovely begonia’s …wish I could remember the name, they were also roselike !

Love your colourful rock…
I’m glad you like it! We had to drive for some hours to reach it, and every time it showed up around a bend we had a different view.
Worth the drive! 🙂
The ranunculus is beautiful.Did it come from your garden?
I’m afraid not…Do you have them in your garden? I heard they are difficult.
I have tried to grow them but with little success. 😦
Mmm, I don’t think they will be a success here either. maybe only for greenhouses?
Maybe 🙂
