Isalind Art – Vadstena

Isalind. I was introduced to her art a year ago – and saw true talent, and art as I love it.. Isalind is an autodidact, but has got all it takes…to make her viewers stand in awe. Her paintings are like photos…only, there is more life to them, more heart, more soul. They are enigmatic celebrations of Life itself.

I had the opportunity to visit her exhibition in Vadstena this weekend, so I could tell her how much I admire her. Please, take a look – you will not be disappointed. Remember, these are NOT photos. The big paintings took her 800 hours to complete.

Varekai – Cirque du Soleil

Ever since I first saw Cirque du Soleil on TV…I have wanted to see them. And I did, some years ago. And, I was not disappointed.

This year they were back in Malmö, with astonishing Varekai – Tales of the Forest. With that title, I was already mesmerized. And the story of Icaros is a story I read as a child as well as a grown-up. These old stories always teach us about life – and for making the story come alive, I cannot think of a better way than this – Cirque du Soleil!

No flash or filming allowed, so these are the posters, and in the header, the scene before opening. The Forest, dense with trees, and the staircase leading up to a path under the ceiling.

Icaros falls to the ground, in the Forest on top of a volcano. All the creatures living here…can make anything happen…

Founded in 1984 in Canada, they tour the world every year and their success and their prizes are innumerable. If you have not seen them before…I urge you to go. It is the  ultimate art performance. The ultimate dresses, make up, music, acrobatic stunts, stories and… Life!

Thursday Thoughts

On my way to Varekai – Cirque Soleil. Hopefully an evening of wonders, colours, beauty, laughs and good food.

Have a great Thursday all – My thoughts also go to all those people waiting for Irma. Take care.

WPC: Waiting

From Cheri – a wish for us to show ”waiting”. I am just filling in what she already started…because noone can do the waiting business like a dog can!

In the header, sweet Seonaid’s (my Scottish blogger friend at Breathofgreenair) two bearded collies, and down under my own Mille.

Travel theme: Sports

Travel theme: Sports

Many sports seem to be only about hitting balls… but some sports can be totally different. Some include animals as well, such as dogs and horses. My friend’s daughter even had her rabbit competing in high jump…

Let us start in New Zealand, in the header, with a silver ball for All Blacks!

New Zealand sport(!) …Lonely Dog gallery.

Totti the winner that day!

One of my former students, Eric, is number one in Sweden in this sport. The horse here is his precious Grim.

CFFC: C, at least 4 letters

For Cee’s challenge, C,  I found…

A Cemetary in Glendalough, Ireland… (of course)

…and a Cute Couple in the street.

September Feelings

Totti and I walked the familiar track in the Vedema forest. Some trees were taken down, which made it a bit difficult to recognize the path. Still warm in the air, but autumn signs were everywhere.  A fine day.
