Everything is made out of magic, leaves and trees, flowers and birds, badgers and foxes and squirrels and people. So it must be all around us. In this garden – in all the places.
― The Secret Garden
I read The Secret Garden as a young woman, and over the years it has occupied an enchanted and magical place in my heart. Now Autumn has arrived here, where I live in Sweden, and that means There’s a magical tie to the land of our home, which the heart cannot break, though the footsteps may roam. – Eliza Cook.
But Magical can mean so many different things to everyone of us – At Lens-Artists, we have already had Magical Light as a theme, (last year) but this time it is all up to you! What is Magical to you? People, places, things, nature, adventures, moments… – this week we are looking forward to having some of Your magic!
As usual – click on the images to enlarge.
The magical, supernatural force that is with us every second is time. We can’t even comprehend it. It’s such an illusion, it’s such a strange thing. – Anthony Hopkins
Garden as though you will live forever. – William Kent
Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it – Rumi
Poetry is a fresh morning spider-web telling a story of moonlit hours of weaving and waiting during a night. – Carl Sandburg
I am sure there is Magic in everything, only we have not sense enough to get hold of it and make it do things for us
― The Secret Garden
Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? – Douglas Adams
– But there are, Fairies dancing in my garden. Contemplate the lovely writer Roald Dahl’s words: Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.
Thank you for all the wonderful silhouettes for Patti last week! If you haven’t seen her beautiful post yet – please pay her a visit!

Only a few snippets, but it looks like a lovely garden.
Is it safe to assume that it is large in size?
What kind of stuff do you grow?
Here’s my submission for this week:
https://stupidityhole.wordpress.com/2019/09/15/city-from-trees/
Thank you, SH – and the garden is rather large, yes, 2000 square metres.
Oh, and I grow not that much anymore, but currants, blackberries, rhubarbs, plums and cherries, and herbs.
Ah.
Plums are always delicious, and I imagine the other plants you’re growing are also rewarding.
I’ve got bell peppers, a few chillies, some herbs, strawberries and cucumbers myself. Also ginger.
Then you grow much more than I do!

There’s definitely magic in your garden. The spider web ( the second to last photo) looks like it is waiting for fairies to come and dance on it.

Thank you, Janet! I could never live without a garden. For one year of my life I did not have one – that was a tough year.
The quotes complimented the photographs so well but the closing lines were the best. The combination of Douglas Adams, Roald Dahl and your words make me believe in magic more than ever.
Oh, how happy I am for you! It adds an important dimension to Life – I always tried to inspire my children to get that feeling…and they both still have it.
Beautiful images. Inspiring prompt.
Thank you, VJ! glad if you were inspired!

Love the spider webs, especially the horizontal one. Such perfection!
And the butterfly on the ladder! Wow. This image embodies presence for me. The ability to notice and recognize something magical and precious on the spur of the moment.

great theme and have I mentioned before that I appreciate how the lens-artists theme is not just ”one” photograph photo challenge – the variety becomes an experience – and nothing wrong with a solid and strong stand alone single photo – but just wanted to say I like how the hosts of LA chose to have meaty posts.

with that said – liked the various spider web shots – but especial the horizontal one –
and grapes fresh off the vine – have a magical taste – wish I could sample
So happy you like the concept! I agree on every point – and single, strong photos are just as appreciated! Soon the grapes will be ready too – wish you could sample…not easily done though…
