Brilliant find … you wonder how people can live there, Just the steps … is a hurdle. But it looks abandoned or ??? Don’t know with Tbilisi’s old houses.
No, you don’t know with their old houses. They might look abandoned, but some are not.
Some look condemn on the outside and inside they are fantastic. I notice that when I looked for apartments for Easter.

This one really makes me wonder… especially after zooming in on the details of this “junk.” Picture worth a thousand words?

Good point.
A lot of time, effort, and adaptation goes into making a like like that. It is also sad that people live that way, either by choice or situation. A few houses in my neighborhood which is comfortable lower middle class allow their yards to look that way.

In the first sentence I used the word like twice where it should have been ”pile like”.
True, and there are yards like that in our town as well.
At first the string line seemed to be a means of blocking access to it, but in this bigger photo it seems a laundry line and that maybe the stairs themselves are ‘junk’. Very interesting. Where is it, please?
I think there are blocking lines as well as laundry lines. This is in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Yes, you are right – stories there are. Tbilisi is a city full of them. Wish I had known more about them.

Yes – and there were many of those in Tbilisi. I talked to a woman in such a house – she knew some words in English, so she told me life was difficult there. And I understand there can not be many necessities working. Parts of the Old Town was literally falling apart and the rebuilding made the area a big construction site.
It is a shame to see what other people have to endure just to exist
