Lens-Artists Challenge # – Shoot from Above

This week Ritva invites us to a very interesting challenge – Shoot from Above. Not my ordinary way of shooting, but certainly outside the box!

My first thought for a fitting image was a photo taken in a restaurant in Amsterdam, where the restrooms were in the cellar. On my way down I could not avoid noticing the unusual tiling. Rather spectacular… to my eyes at least!

Then a gallery from my garden and glass house. The shells are from New Zealand, then you find what is left of my favourite flower pot, one of last summer’s flower bowls, and one rusty, decorative ball. Lastly a collection of my daughter’s tinfoil balls ( I get one now and then…) in a glass box.

I love these flowers – or their foliage. The swirling shapes look their best from above. And in the header/opener is a collection of Legotechnic figures put in a box by my granddaughter.

Resilience was last week’s theme and your posts to Anne’s wonderful challenge really showed its importance in our lives. A massive thank you to you all. This week, Ritva presents us with this incredibly interesting theme, and I enjoyed seeing things from above again, although that is not an ordinary winter game. Ritva’s post is beautiful, and it will inspire you to join in. Remember to link back to her original post and to tag Lens-Artists.

Next week it is Egídio’s turn to lead so please make sure to visit his colourful site Saturday 25th January to find out more. Until then, be good and take care.

  1. I like the composition of the photo of tiles. The mirror is a perfect inclusion into the composition. My favorite, though, is yours. That photo of the swirling lea patterns is mesmerizing.

  2. Lovely images, i was not expecting nothing else, but I believe I am in agreement with you what were your favorites, the header and last image, if not well, 😂 They were mine. That is not say anything about the other images, your photos are always inspirational.

    • Thank you, Lindy. The foil balls, well, as far as I remember it, my little daughter had some chocolates and handed over the foil balls to me when we were out walking. They count as metal and should be put in that bin. Since then – maybe 20 years ago – she always brings me a ball ( with great ceremonies) every time we meet. I save them in this glass jar and they look great!

    • Jude, no drinks allowed then! The foil balls, well, if I remember it right, my little daughter had eaten some chocolate and handed over the foil balls to me when we were out walking. As they count as metal they should be put in that bin at home. Since then – maybe 20 years ago – she always brings me a new ball ( with great ceremonies) every time we meet. I save them in this glass jar!

      • Maianthemum dilatatum. Must be. The flowers looks just like these too. Strangely enough none of my apps recognises it, but I tried looking at the wild species we have in our forest. It turns out there is a bigger one for gardens!

  3. I have also found the walk down to the restrooms in some restaurants to be interesting 😀. Nice shots! I am curious though, about the tin foil balls! What’s the idea?

  4. Ann-Christine, you have a very sharp eye for beauty. The tiles are great, as are the other assorted items you displayed. Then, in closing, you have that hypnotizing view of the plant. Fantastic!

  7. What a glorious fun mix from all over 🙂 ! Love the flowers . . . feel warmly enchanted you have kept the foil balls . . . would not like to be going down those restaurant steps if my wine glass had been too full . . . and, do you not have similar shells around your beaches in Sweden since you brought them home? We have them everywhere here . . . love E
