We welcome Joanne Mason (Joanne Mason Photography) as our guest host this week! Her challenge is this – and I think it will give us all some ideas of what to go for or to relish stories and pictures from others.
Everyone should see this…can mean many different things. I have chosen places I have visited and realised their beauty, importance and significance to the world. If you are tired of seeing them again – I am sorry. But, Everyone should see this…
A glimpse of the Himalayas

and Tibet, the Pothala palace.

Bhutan – the only carbon dioxide negative country in the world. A role model all others have failed to follow.

The beauty of its Landscapes, temples, people and festivities.

Their rare wildlife and how they continue successfully to preserve it.

This is the Takin, Bhutan’s national animal. A massive 180 kilo animal, related to sheep.

The Galapagos Islands. As a child I thought of it as Paradise, because animals here are not afraid of people. And it Is a paradise for its animals, who do not need to fear us humans.

This bird was a true wonder for me to see live. And I struggled for hours to get a clear picture from the ship. Hundreds of pictures discarded to get two great shots of Elliot’s Storm Petrel. This bird can run on the water, and even stand still to pick a fish!

I was also lucky to catch a couple of Iguanas climbing up the giant cactuses to eat the most juicy bits of them.

Finally, I wish everyone could stay some days, weeks, months or years…in the rainforest. This is the Amazon. Just to get an idea of the biodiversity and life at its best. To learn from the indigenous people and their wisdom of nature. The sound of the jungle may be intense, but I have never slept better anywhere in the world.
Joanne wants us to share photographs of places/people/things that you find uniquely inspiring – or photographs themselves that you are proud of – Simply stated, photographs everyone should see.
Last week’s challenge was hosted by Tina who asked us to reflect on urban and rural scenes in City Mouse/Country Mouse. Next week, it will be John’s turn to challenge us. Watch for his post at his Journey’s With Johnbo.
Such wonderful places you have enjoyed … thank you for sharing them
I am glad you liked them too. thank you, Julie!
Nature is worth appreciated for no being created or made nature as the way is organizied by God some time I like moving to some vicinities just to view some hills or water curved within the valley, forest where Bird making Melody worth listening to, and it glading my heart, how some time the atmosphere look like, pleasant weather after rain fall, this is how God simile over the earth, and renew the hope of his creation, to the end when called us back home by (death),it reminds us that we accountable for our living on this planet Earth, the earth is a temporary place for living,he made everything pleasant to person with a pure heart and pure intentions, but person with a crude heart, see everything as a choes, and also unpleasant, may God give us a pure heart to appreciate every thing within us , and with our reach God bless you thank and Good night
Wow, Ann-Christine. In some ways, this challenge gave us dreams, wishing to be able to see such places and at least having the joy of seeing them through other people’s experiences. I love your Bhutan photos, there is a place I probably won’t visit.
♥ Thank you, Sofia. I am very grateful to have been there.
Amazing! Indeed, everyone should get to see these..I hope I get to do that in person one day..
You are young, and hopefully the world will exist for a while. Stay well!
❤️
A beautiful, wistful share, Ann-Christine. Such a contrast to your Milo post. I hope the day is going well for both of you xx
Thank you, Jo! Both of us were shaken…and my husband too when he learned what had happened. So far Milo is getting better, and about the owner I don’t know, but do hope so.
How lovely, I’ve not seen a tsechu in Bhutan yet. Lovely photos as always
Extraordinary places and photos. The Takin is so vivid, he is literally walking through the screen.
Well described! A powerful animal. Thank you.
So envious, what amazing places you have visited. The photos are incredible and makes me really want to visit those countries. You do not disappoint, you have created a great post
Thank you, Ritva! I am grateful to have travelled there – but you have travelled to places I will never see!
You have seen some truly amazing places, thank you for sharing them with us.
Thank you, Pauline! I am grateful.
Beautiful photos and a wonderful fact about Bhutan; C02 negative!
Great, isn’t it!
So beautiful! What fun and amazing travels! I really like the Takin! What a beautiful creature!
Thank you – beautiful, isn’t he! So big and strong. I had never seen this animal in my life. Not in books either.
Such wonderful photos of amazing animals and birds. The Petrol running on the water is ever so good. I like the Iguana as well. Truly an adventure Ann-Christine 😀
♥ Wonderful memories – thank you, Brian.
Gorgeous!!
♥
You just gave us a world tour. What impressive places and photos you have here!
Thank you, Egidio!
Great gallery. The petrel walking on water is wonderful. And that iguana climbing up a cactus. It must have skin like steel to survive the spine and hairs on the plant.
I am glad you liked it! Yes, their skin looked thick and strong!
What a wondrous collection of pictures of several of the most unique places on our earth! Ann-Chistine, these pictures are magazine-worthy or exhibition-worthy. The picture of Elliot’s Storm Petrel is miraculous. The Bhutan images are wonderful, as is the look inside the Amazon rainforest. Our world is truly a wondrous place, but it will only endure if we care for it as do the Bhutanese. This is also a great response to the challenge. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Joanne, I am very grateful for these travels and the opportunities they brought. You are so right about what it will take to save us. But will we…?
Gorgeous photos and I agree with Tina. It’s a mixed blessing that we have access to these last pockets of undeveloped nature.
True, thank you.
Marvelous as always Ann-Christine. I must admit the image of the two white birds in the Galapagos stole my heart on this one. And your images of the Amazon are wonderful, but sadly prove that even the world’s most remote places like it and beautiful Bhutan are no longer beyond our ability to visit. It’s truly a mixed blessing that so much of our planet has become accessible. Our world is truly an amazing place.
I agree with you in every detail, Tina. A mixed blessing. And the world is amazing…so sorry one of the best fighters for it left us this week. Jane Goodall. One of our heroes.
Ann-Christine, WOW! These are all incredible images of amazing places. If I was younger I would love to plan a trip to see some of them. Thank you for taking me to see them with this wonderful post.
Thank you so much, Beth! I am grateful to life.
