Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: The Color White

Cee’s challenge is to find the colour White. Click for more entries!

I have chosen three different whites – A ceiling in the beautiful home of a friend of mine, a delicate flower from the Pyreneés and a lovely horse from Jämtland ( photo taken this weekend).

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: The Color Orange

Orange is beautiful and oranges are tasty. My choices for this challenge are some of my favourite oranges…

New life and new lives

As usual my pot plants get some new soil and some grooming this week in February. But, this year I had to take down one of the big Monstera Deliciosas – it had grown to the ceiling. This weekend I happened to have dinner with some of my old friends who worked together a long time ago in the same building (it does not exist any more) where I got those Monsteras as cuttings, some 38 years ago…So, now I decided to divide my Monstera into big enough pieces to plant, and then hand them out to my friends. A living memory from days gone by.

Of course I have to show some of the orchids starting now – mostly phalaenopsis. In some weeks there will hopefully be more of them – two cattleyas are budding and more phalaenopsis.

Travel theme: Romance

I searched my house for Romance – I didn’t have to travel far away…

And here it is…

…the road to my Heart

Happy Valentine’s Day!

My rays of light!

As I suffer severely from the darkness, the loss of daylight and the constant grey drizzle this winter, I decided to make a post of the short rays of light on the latest days’ walks. Maybe there are more of us who need some light – I hope you will enjoy them!

Suddenly there was a short glimpse of sunlight on these beautiful straws, resting by my path in the soft wind.

This broken twig, and its bright lichen, caught my eye inside the forest. Hit by a tiny ray,  it lay glowing on the dark ground.

A dark green candle provides the soft light of my evenings.

This years’ fiery Christmas flower in my home is a colourful Hippeastrum called ”La Paz”.

May the light be with you all!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Kind and Caring

Kind and Caring – here are some lovely friends of mine! Visit Cee for even more kindness and caring!

Thank you All, and for Us being here Together!

In Sara‘s blog I found this discription of blogging, taken from her blogger friend Dorann(http://countryliving4beginners.wordpress.com): “I have learned over time that there is a lot more to blogging than blogging.  By itself, the exercise is rewarding – that is, if you are a true loner.  Otherwise, when you begin to reach out to the blog-us-fear, you are bound to become part of a team of players.  And suddenly you find yourself not only blogging, but reading, liking, and commenting, and finally, becoming part of a team who are all enjoying constructive interaction to help you to achieve your goals.  That is what makes blogging so rewarding!”

I also want to say Thank You, from my heart, to all those who follow or read my blog, for your constant support, likes and comments are the reason I’m still here blogging!  Every week I learn new things about the world from you, everything from recipes to new words to social life to politics. I am honoured to receive awards – but my real reward is your attention and appreciation. Sometimes my own time to be supportive is far too short – but thank you for being  patient with me – know that I’m always coming back to enjoy your stories and photos !

I will not follow any rules with the awards, instead I will link to a few of the more than 200 blogs I follow and the 200 more I also read and enjoy. An impossible task – so remember you are all in my heart!

Thank you, always considerate, wise and kind Ajaytao, for A Christmas Bouquet Awards ( some of which I hadn’t heard before, but they sound beautiful)

Thank you, Italian (but writing in English and Swedish) wonderful and versatile Sara, for The Reader Appreciation Award

Thank you, globetrotter and excellent chef Viveka, for The Liebster Award

Thank you, sweet and gifted artist, Mary, for The Wonderful Team member Readership Award

The Urge To Wander – Home

Inför julen 2013 022

Thank You, and I wish you All a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Puerto Mogan

So I returned to this Island In the Sun after 15 years. Once visited when the children were small – now back for almost only one reason – Puerto Mogan. I hope you understand why.
