Lens-Artists Challenge #326 – This Made Me Smile

Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.

– Lord Byron

So much in this world is rather tough right now, I guess we all feel it… I was thinking, don’t we all need a smile? Let’s share something that made us smile, made You smile – and make the world smile with us! Old or new smiles, big or small, we welcome them all!

Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people. ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Art makes people smile, brings people together.

– Yusaku Maezawa

You know I can’t smile without you.

— Barry Manilow, Can’t Smile Without You

Life is too short not to smile…

– Unknown

You’ll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.

– Charlie Chaplin

I think that anybody that smiles automatically looks better.

– Diane Lane

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.

– Joseph Addison

I hope some of these made you smile, and I can’t wait to smile even more from seeing Your choices! (I was thinking of suggesting 1-3 photos…but why, when we desperately need those smiles?) Remember to tag with Lens-Artists and link to this post.

Next week, Sofia will lead us from her inspirational site Photographias – be sure to visit on Saturday 30!

A massive Thank You, Tina, for a wonderful challenge last week! So many things to be grateful for and so many heartwarming messages from you all! Until next time, stay grateful, warm at heart and keep smiling.

A Short Visit to Kyrkö Mosse Again…

…on our way to Kosta Boda Art Hotel, we passed by the old cars again. There are quite some posts about them over the years, by me and visiting blogger friends Viveka (myguiltypleasures) and Sue (WordsVisual).

We just stopped for a short walk to see the changes – in fact the cars are deteriorating fast as the heavy rust make them fall apart. The old shed is now an even more dangerous place to visit as another tree has fallen over it.Kosta Boda Art Hotel 009

In fact, as no newer cars are added to the graveyard, I believe its most glorious days will soon be over. Still I will keep an eye on them… maybe once a year, to follow the process anyway. A bit sad – but that’s the passage of time.

Sofia – Day and Night

The symbol of the city, Sveta Sofia – Saint Sophia, stands on a 48 feet high pedestal at a big crossroads in the city centre of Sofia. The 24 feet, copper and bronze statue by the sculptor Georgi Chapkanov, was erected in 2000, and stands in a spot once occupied by a statue of Lenin, and before him, a statue of Apollon.

Sophia was considered too erotic and pagan to be referred to as a saint, and she is not even highlighted, like many other statues are. Still, she carries the symbols of power (crown), fame (wreath) and wisdom (owl). The crown is also a reference to the Goddess of Fate – Tyche, inspired by the old emblem of Sofia dating back to 1900.

I think I prefer this handsome gentleman in traditional uniform…He kindly let me take a photo, and I was so pleased.

A walk with more of my impressions of the city –

Of course I have to finish with a gorgeous tram…at least I think it is gorgeous. Not new, emerald green, squeaking and rattling along the street – no risk being run over!

Streets of London – Love and Love Not

Big cities demand a lot of walking – London is no exception. The Underground might be the fastest, but the Overground for certain is the nicest. Let’s go for a walk and a ride…and look upon the city with fresh eyes…Today – What do I still love about it and what do I not love that much?

London is a city I will always come back to. Not in the way I used to as a young girl and woman, I know that. Today it is more of the atmosphere…the walks and the talks. The friendly people. No need for many musicals or concerts or exhibitions…How do You feel about London? Do you go often? Why/why not?

Black & White Sunday: After and Before

How About a Cow Adventure?
