Thursday Thoughts – Thank You

Since last Thursday, life has changed, the world has changed and will never be quite the same again.

Last Wednesday I walked by the sea, contemplating the beautiful sunset.

I stopped for some minutes at the boat house and found another soul, sitting alone in the still of the evening…

And the sun went down, for the last time in my quiet and ordinary life.

I want to thank you from the depth of my heart, from every vibrating fibre, for all your warm greetings, your sincere condolences and your concern. I will keep them in my heart – Thank You. This is a truly magical community… In the header is a magical bouquet of flowers sent to me all the way from Australia. I cannot thank you enough – no one mentioned no one forgotten. I Love You All.

Thursday Thoughts – The Sun is Shining In

Autumn is coming, and the sun is shining in, shimmering in the fading flower beds – finding the last ballerinas – and finally peering in through my windows.

Suddenly there is another quality of light, and a familiar chill in the air…

 – even if…in my rooms the warm evening sun is lingering.

A last walk in the garden before the sun sets, and then a silent cup of coffee while cleaning up and getting ready for the night.

I am so grateful to have lived another beautiful day.

Thursday Thoughts – Autumn is Coming

So now we are here…Autumn is inevitably coming to the northern hemisphere.

A short drive to town – and along the road the familiar landscape is slowly turning into soft autumn colours.

Some fields are aglow in the evening light. The harvest is in and a calmness is settling over the landscape.

This year, being a farmer has been a positive thing. Working outdoors all the time,  and the weather staying kind to the crops.

We have to take care of and treasure the few positive things this year – the year of corona. I returned home with a calmness in my soul and a soft smile on my lips. Just like natured showed me .

Thursday Thoughts – Life Returning

A year after my hiking forest went down I thought I would return for a new photo documentation. What has happened since then – is life returning, what and how?

Memories of the old forest are obvious, tangible,

– but life is slowly returning.

Grasses mostly – moving waves in the wind – covering and discovering…

… roots

– still holding on to the soil.

But grasses are the masters here now – mostly wavy hair-grass.

And I feel happy and hopeful. New beginnings, new life.

Thursday Thoughts – Norrvikens Trädgårdar

For my husband’s birthday, we decided to surprise him with Norrvikens Trädgårdar

A lovely park we had not visited since the 1970’s.

One man’s work – glorius, and even better than I remembered it.

The grand greenhouses were magnificent,

and a great place for weddings and big parties.

The various gardens also displayed very old trees and foreign species.

Open air installations were blending in quite well.

And Milo found several little ponds to drink from, before the next adventure…

Thursday Thoughts – Painted Ladies

Today I have finished my Painted Ladies jigsaw puzzle – loved it. Painted really, so faces and details were very difficult to do. Thought mother’s birthday orchid also looked a bouquet of painted ladies…
