WPC: Vibrant

”This week, share a photo of something vibrant. Vivid colors, a lively portrait, or perhaps a delightfully colorful landscape, if you’re in a warmer climate. Let’s wash the web with a rainbow of colors to keep the winter gloom at bay.”

Naturally from the natural world – vibrant!

SL-WEEK 29: Snow

The challenge this week at Sylvain Landry, is Snow. Just returned from Iceland, naturally my entry will be some sturdy, Icelandic horses. 15 degrees below zero – they stand close together against the strong wind, awaiting the night fall.

A Better Year to Come

I hope the world will see a better year, 2016, with peace and love in heart and mind. And I hope for a joyous, Happy New Year to you and yours!

My last post this year, is from my walk in the forest today. Contemplating 2015 and what will come with the new year. The sun spilled its glory from an almost clear sky  – so – what better to do than spending the whole New Year’s Eve outdoors, hiking?

Freezing cold from the start…

…with the sun trying to reach over the tree tops.

Succeeding now and then – here from the south.

We had not walked here since the last great gale, and several times the path was totally covered in fallen trees.

The untouched parts were shimmering in the low, golden sun.

Some parts remained white and slippery, and my boys had to walk slowly not to fall into the mud.

Some of my favourite ice – in Sweden we call it håris (hair ice) – and if you look closely, you will understand why. (The header picture)

Heading home again, the sun setting and the real cold returning.

2016, we do not know what lies ahead of us, we can only hope, and work each one of us to make a better world for ourselves and for our fellow passengers on this planet.

The road may be uneven, slippery, narrow, filled with obstacles…but I want to believe there is a light shining us through. Safe travels!

WPC: Oops!

Well…this is by far my most oopsy picture ever – me doing food photography outdoors,  suddenly finding a cat literally IN my lens. I was so shocked, nearly dropped the camera, and the shot went off. Salmon must have been one of his favourites…

Den stackaren hade samma teckning på andra sidan huvudet!

And the poor thing had the same markings on the other side of his head!

Thursday Thoughts

Moody tonight.

An old, worn down, dilapidated house…with some patches here and there. A mix of old and new. Warm, yellow light seeping through in some windows, only darkness in others.

Look closely and you will find a heart on the window sill, neatly camouflaged.

It is me.

SL-WEEK 21: Love

Sylvain Landry – Love. My two dogs loved each other dearly. And I loved the two of them dearly. Now Mille is gone and only Totti is here – left alone. Love very seldom lasts for ever.

Travel theme: Faces

Faces tell you a great deal about the persons you meet – and the eyes reveal even more. I love the faces of old people – their wrinkled wisdom. To be a bit bitchy – where is the wisdom in those faces being fiercely operated on (to look younger…)?

For Ailsa’s theme, Faces, I have chosen two charming couples. I hope you like them as much as I do!
