# 221 Piggar – Spikes (83/365)

My most spectacular begonia came as a cutting from Russia many years ago. Nobody knew its real origin. According to my big flower dictionary – Bonniers stora Bo med blommor (Live with flowers) the plant might be a Begonia manicáta from Mexico.

This is a leaf seen from under – filled with tiny spikes.

Vecka 8 – Week 8, Refreshing my house plants – What is flowering?

Week 8 is my relaxing week – pruning, replanting, buying new sometimes, reorganizing and also some sad farewells to do. First a look at my first day – what’s flowering?

Many non-flowering plants got some new soil and some pruning these two days as well. Now there are all the pelargonias left, and the really big plants too. I know what to do for the rest of the week!

# 41 Close-up (71/365)

Tulpaner, tulpaner, tulpaner.

Tulips, tulips, tulips. Some are more beautiful than others – the ones I got the day before yesterday was remarkably beautiful.

Details are important. Even if you don’t see them – it is they who make up our world…

# 348 Vriden – Twisted (49/365)

Today my poinsettias had to go. Left in the window-frame – a beautifully twisted leaf.

# 265 Slokar – Drooping (44/365)

My lovely tulips…a snap-shot before they fall apart – then time to leave for the garden.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Serenity

Serenity. Only the word – and it’s already beautiful…

Blue and crystal white in winter

Colours from a lonely bridge in autumn

White Parrot tulips in my old vase

WordPress Photo Challenge: Yellow

Yellow is a very strong and happy colour, life giving and stands for intellect.  In some countries in the West, it’s representing cowardice, but in Old China it was the Emperor’s colour, the most beautiful and prestigious colour of all.

According to Wikipedia, the word ”yellow” comes from the Old English geolu, geolwe (oblique case), meaning ”yellow, yellowish”, from the  Indo-European base, gʰel-, as the word yell; gʰel- means both bright and gleaming, and to cry out.

Wearing yellow though, is not easily done for everybody – but looks stunning on people with dark or tanned skin, and preferably, dark hair. Lucky you who can shine in this beautiful colour!

To me, yellow means sun, spring and autumn. And, of course, the yellow houses in Denmark! For more of Yellow, click here.
