# 55 Döskalle – Skull (70/365)

Denna döskalle och ett antal likadana till plus skulderblad och revben, m.m. togs hem från dotterns volontärtid på Nya Zeeland. Hon jobbade på ett naturvårdsprogram där.

Possum är ett djur som inte naturligt förekommer på NZ, utan har kommit dit med oss människor. Resultatet är det vanliga i alla sådana fall – förödande. Det inplanterade djuret utrotar en del av de inhemska djuren. Eftersom NZ har så många speciella djur, till exempel den icke flygande kiwin, så behövs det inte mycket för en katastrofal utveckling för det endemiska beståndet.

This skull is from a possum in New Zealand. My daughter worked there as a volunteer on a nature preservation program, and brought home several of these, along with ribs and vertebraes and…other skeletons.

Possums are not well liked in NZ as they were brought there by humans who didn’t know better. Many endemic species are in danger or even extinct because of our stupidity.

Från en resa till Peru och Titicacasjön 1987. Uroindianernas vassbåtar är fantastiskt välbyggda – alla som känner till Thor Heyerdal och Ra och Ra II, vet hur mycket de tål.

Här får lammskinnet vara vågorna.

From a trip to Peru and Lake Titicaca in 1987. Reed boats are still used among the Uru indians and the famous Thor Heyerdahl proved to the world how much they can take, sailing Ra and Ra II.

My lamb skin rug will be the heavy waves here…

I don’t know if this is a proper example of how I express myself…but we had great fun – and that surely is a way of expressing oneself.

The three of us had been a whole day exploring British Museum, and on our way out, my son caught sight of this bench with sleeping people. Irresistable! So we sat down beside them and tried to look exactly as tired as the other ”benchers”. My daughter took the picture. Nobody noticed…they kept sleeping as we left.

For Cee – sleighbells and wild geese are some of my favourite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels, Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, These are a few of my favorite things.

Grandfather’s horses used these bells. Sleigh bells? I love the sound and the worn leather. We’re fortunate enough to have kept them, even if we don’t use them. I knew they were down in the cellar, and I found them in grandmother’s old rocking chair.

Pimpad…ett bidrag som jag var osäker på om jag skulle kunna få med. Men, när man minst anar det så löser det sig! Sonen gillar att bygga, måla och teckna – han jobbar med grafisk design. Plötsligt stod han i dörröppningen med ett brett leende – han hade hittat barndomens Gameboy och pimpat den. Ny fräsch färgkombination och de rätta figurerna på. (Jo, han är 22…)

Pimped – an entry I didn’t believe I could match, really. Until my son stood smiling in the door holding the Gameboy of his childhood in blue hands…Pimped in new colours with the ”right” stickers and paintings on. He loves everything to do with games and art – working with graphic design.

En avgjutning av Sveriges mest berömda (?) träskor. Ett antal berömda människor har fått sina skor avgjutna och ställda på en bro i Malmö.

Replica of maybe the most famous clogs (?) in Sweden – worn by a famous actor in his movies. Many famous actors has got replicas of their shoes standing on a bridge in Malmoe.
