# 291 Stenhård – Hard as Stone (54/365)

In Vedema there are huge rocks and boulders thrown out among the trees. Surely left from the latest ice age, they stand hard as stone against the soft mossy ground.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: This Land is My Land

As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.
I’ve roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps,
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.

Of course Cee’s challenge must be applied on my own country and land – Sweden.

# 255 Skimrande – Shimmering (51/365)

Thawing in the sun – and then freezing again. Today there was a frozen, shimmering crust.

# 201 Må väl – Feel Good (45/365)

Totti is an expert on feel good moments – a roll in snow, frost or moss is a means of reaching these.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: My Favourite Things, Verse Two

For Cee – sleighbells and wild geese are some of my favourite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels, Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, These are a few of my favorite things.

Grandfather’s horses used these bells. Sleigh bells? I love the sound and the worn leather. We’re fortunate enough to have kept them, even if we don’t use them. I knew they were down in the cellar, and I found them in grandmother’s old rocking chair.

Wild geese and cranes early in the morning at Hornborgasjön.

# 114 Halvor – Halves (41/365)

This giant beech was cut in halves by the heavy storm Gudrun, exactly ten years ago. The fallen trunk has been resting here on the ground ever since, but the remaining part was very healthy. Unfortunately these latest winter storms were too much for the remaining trunk, and last week he sadly went down. My mother and I walked here two weeks ago and heard him moaning in the rough wind. We could also see a fracture running almost to the ground in this remaining trunk.

# 129 I sällskap – In company (40/365)

Strangely enough I didn’t meet many people hiking this fine, sunny day. But by the lake there were many families cooking dinner by the fires, children playing and dogs jumping. This nice couple were marching down the gravel road.
