WPC: Grid

WordPress – Grid, make it the most important in your photo. Well, grids are not always manmade – you find nature’s grids everywhere…My choice fell on a Vanda, a remarkable Asian orchid, intensely coloured with a splendid grid. This Vanda I found standing in Denmark, outside a hotel.

WPC: Intricate

Everything in nature is intricately developed. For the challenge Intricate, I have chosen mostly orchids but a very important insect as well.

WP Challenge: Twinkle

No stars to be seen, no snow, no nothing…I live up north in the darkness, so the twinkling I must search for  – in my old vaults and chambers…This Christmas will be my number four, blogging, so here are some memorable twinklings from 2011-2013!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: The Color Purple

Purple is my mother’s favourite colour. So for Cee I have chosen one wild flower, a second flower from my garden and the third beauty is my favourite orchid.

Pasque flower at Kjugekull, Skåne. These flowers are quite rare and you are not allowed to pick them or dig them up to plant in your garden.

Cranesbill geranium from my garden. Lovely flowers in bouquets and especially together with orange and yellow flowers.

Cattleya. Photo from my dear friend Börje’s greenhouse. Cattleyas are easily grown in your own window – flower generously and are found in a great variety of colours.

Travel theme: Winter

So far this year, there is no real winter here in Skane, Sweden – there is no snow. There is not even frost and it’s not remotely close to zero degrees C. Last year is another story…winter was upon us in early December and lasted for several months, in fact it was one of the ”worst ”winters ever when it comes to snow, cold and endurance…

I will have to use those lovely memories from last year, Ailsa, to really show Winter.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fleeting

WordPress wants us to think about fleeting, this time. Fleeting is also something that can be applied to our whole existence on planet Earth.

Our National Day in Sweden, June 6, showed us in many ways just how fleeting we all are
