If you are lucky to have children or animals – or both – you know that few things make you happier than watching them having fun together. These photos were taken autumn 2012, just after Mille’s recovery from his long and severe illness. He had gained a kilo or two and I think this is the first time he responded to Totti’s invitings to play. His old spirit was back! As you can see his fur is thin and dry and the curls are almost gone. But this moment was so precious to me – I was truly happy (and so were those two friends) – they had fun together again. Today Mille is totally recovered, with curls and all!

If you have a dog you will know…
No dogs. Only cats and parrots. But we have had dogs in years past.
But cats also know how to have fun, don’t they?
The cats and birds are constant sources of entertainment. The cats play with us and each other, and the birds like to play with us, and both the cats and birds talk to us a lot. The birds ring bells and ask for service, we really belong to them more than they to us.

The little one, Totti, pines a little, but Mille was alone for six years before Totti came along…so Mille, I think, has a good time when Totti is not there. Especially when he feels a bit tired in the mornings…it’s tiresome to have someone poking at you wanting to play.
