Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Small Subjects

These are silk worm cocoons made into little owls. Small subjects. A present from my children bought on their trip to Japan. They always give me owl – things, knowing I love owls. Somehow it was difficult to photograph them, not only because they are about the size of a bumble bee.

  2. Beautiful …. and cute. Delicate like everything coming out of Japan.
I don’t know if I have told that I had a pet owl (real) – by name Oscar when I was a kid.

      • My grandpa was the council game keeper in Höör – and he found Oscar on the ground – a couple of weeks old, but no nest above … so that is how he ended up with us.
He was the whole streets pet – and a neighbor wanted to give him some snacks and gave him bacon … and he died a couple of days later. The bacon was too salty. It was terrible to lose him – had him for nearly 3 years.

      • Oooooh, I cant help thinking – how did that neighbour think? Do not ever give anything to wild animals that they would not eat themselves being free in nature. I understand how terrible this must have been – how unnecessary! But then again – poor neighbour…I guess he/she just wanted to be friendly.

      • Yes, the neighbor he was devastated, he had forgotten that the bacon was salted … he didn’t do it on purpose and he had feed Oscar before, but not with bacon. We were all heart broken – the whole street … he flew and visit them all every day. *smile
