I have been there and can vouch for the beauty of the temple as well as the Sikh religion.
Our tip was crazy though. A savvy local travel agent chartered a plane that normally flies to Brussels overnight and is parked here (in Chennai) during the day, for a very reasonable packaged day-trip to Amritsar!! We just about had time after the two hr flight each way, to visit the temple and a monument to a freedom struggle massacre nearby, before returning in time for the flight to take off again!! Not the most satisfactory of trips, but at least we got to see it. Not many photos either, so I will HAVE to go back 🙂
Of course you will go back, I understand that. I’d like to go too, I didn’t have the opportunity this time.
