Threshold is the WordPress challenge this week – and the concept might be interpreted in several different ways. I have chosen the thought of walking through an open door into another world.
Tibet and the Sera monastery – the threshold to the debating courtyard where monks are training and enhancing their knowledge of the scriptures and how to interpret them. The debating is fairly lively and very entertaining to watch.
This open door signifies the threshold to the basilica of la Sagrada Família in Barcelona. A room of contemplation and spiritual enlightenment.

Maybe you will return to see more of the Tibetan temples one day AnnChristine. I sent you an email about when I will be in Copenhagen. Did you receive it , ok?
I did! Sorry I haven’t answered yet – I’m waiting for my husband to return from his journey. I want the exact plans for his trips and we are leaving for Scotland somewhere there too.I’ll be back! Of course I want to meet you in person! It’s great . I know from Viveka and Maria!
No worries! I have emailed back.
OK found it!
Each so different yet so beautiful in its own way!! Love them both.
Very different they are. I like the differences in life.
Those colours of the Sera Monastery are gorgeous! And peacefulness in both of the photos…so uplifting 🙂
Mmm, thank you, Ese for a peaceful comment!

Monks in engaged in fairly lively debate … yes … would be interesting I’m sure !
Lovely way to interpret the theme Ann Christine .
Poppy, I loved watching them! We stayed for more than an hour to see them debating. Standing up and arguing loudly, but still with respect. Young and old together. I had only seen it once on TV before. Fantastic to be there watching them live. Such a pity I couldn’t understand their arguments!

The Tibetans always have these amazing bright and bold colours decorating their temples. They evoke happiness every time I see them. Wonderful capture of threshold Ann-christine.
I agree about happiness – I wish I could return some day.
Lovely thresholds. Your photos make me realise how little attention I usually pay to my going out and coming in; thresholds need more thought and contemplation.
I wish I would think about it more often too. Maybe that’s one of the advantages with WP? Thinking differently sometimes.
I think WP does make us think differently and look at things with a clearer eye.
I appreciate them very much.
