We once started writing to sum up collected taxes and to label things. We still do. But, we also write for many other reasons – Love for example, and for religious reasons (I guess that too is out of love).
Sometimes the writing is not that beautiful…but still written out of love.
And sometimes I find writing utterly beautiful.
Often the eastern ”alphabets” and writings are much more artistic and beautiful than ours – or what do you think?

I love to see beautiful handwriting, and calligraphy is such an art. My handwriting has gotten rather untidy as the years have progressed. 😕 Lovely header photo, Ann Christine.
Thank you, Sylvia. I used to be proud of my handwriting…but somewhere…over the years…I love your way of putting it – untidy it became. In fact I have to struggle in making it readable…
Sad to admit that I’m the same. 😦

Illustrated copperplate writing with the fancy capitals does it for me 🙂
I’m glad it does!
I agree, Ann-Christine…the Eastern alphabets and writing look more elegant to my eye
I wish I could write that elegantly…some old people still can write Swedish rather beautifully!
Well, let’s face it, people did write a lot more before the arrival of computers!
…they/we did…I am afraid I have lost my beautiful handwriting as well. I practiced much as a young woman – to get it neat…now it is since long gone. When I try to write the result is not very neat anymore…
My handwriting is execrable now…looks like a spider dipped in ink has crawled across the page!!
Haha – sounds like a description of mine. ..
