What perspective do you use – for the most part – when you shoot your photos?
I like the total difference it makes to the picture – depending on what you focus on.
These three pictures were taken from the same spot – but I try to communicate three different ”feelings”. Simple, but interesting. Of course we decide according to what we want to say…but I know we all have our preferences…
…so what is yours? Why?
All the photos are lovely, but from a perspective point of view the third photo is my favourite. I like to look out to the ‘big picture’.
Yes, the big picture is important to understand the rest!
I like the mystery in the first shot but I also like the second for the same reason. Why are chairs arranged in front of boats. Who would be the audience??
Leya, this is such a fascinating question about perspective. The first is my favorite, not only because it shows the textures and colors revealed by surviving in a challenging environment, but also because it leaves more to the imagination. Yet, if one is to tell a story, context is often crucial for others to understand details and meanings from larger frames of reference.
So clever! What a perspective!
La première
Mais oui –
I love the third one, it is the kind of image where a poem leaps from the scene for me :o) xxx
😀 What a lovely comment – thank you!
You are very welcome :o) xxx
I like the first picture, especially the texture of the wood.
Textures shows best in close-ups – no doubt.
I like the mystery of that first shot, Leya, with the jungle of grasses. It’s not one that I would probably take though. 🙂 🙂
So, you go for more of an overall view? As you are a very good story teller I think you might do that.
Thank you! It depends what catches my eye. I do try to look for unusual angles these days. 🙂
;-D
Artistically, I prefer the first. I take quite a lot of close-ups and really like them. But the other two are shots I would take as well. As mentioned previously, I think they show more of the overall story and sometimes I just want people to see what the place looks like, so I would go with one of those.

Mmm – I agree. A combination if possible then.
I like context – the story a picture reveals – so I go for the third shot. It speaks to me of boating on a lake – of contemplation sitting on the bench, the summery outdoors, boat sheds, long summery evenings …,.
Yes, to create a story unwinding…you will need more of a context. True. Thank you for starting one!
I too like the first photo, Leya. For some reason I’m becoming more drawn to close-up photography.
Interesting…because I am going the same way!
The first picture for me, AC…. I like the textures and the idea of the age of the seat!
I could imagine that..I too like the few colours and the texture.
Did you like the Kyrkö Mosse picture I posted today? Not as good as tho closer one I showed the other day, where you almost seem to be in it…..
I liked it – but prefer your first one. The ”being in it”-feeling is important here!
I think you have a good point!!
