Thank you so much – and do go if you can. Bhutan is still genuine and loving. You come back with hope and fear combined. I dream about them in the night, that they will lose the grip and hopelessly slide out in our western disastrous lifestyle. As long as they hold on to Buddhism and GNH, they still have a chance.
The rubbish bin made me laugh. It’s a reminder that even when one is old and tattered one can still be useful. Though whoever used the bottle didn’t have much use for the old bin.

Yes, even here, where they are very environmentally concerned, you could find rubbish lying around. But they have banned cigarrettes and plastic bags.
Banned cigarettes; that is an amazing move.
I did not see a single person smoking either. But many had cell phones..
Ah, maybe another type of addiction? 😉
Sorry to say. Dangerous in other respects.
All very relevant thoughts, like the mirror analogy
Oooh my! That last door with the advice Be useful! I’m sorry, Bhutan people, but I’m far from the useful self that I could have been…
Me too, but I am trying! This door was at a handicraft school.

Love that first image! I’m feeling quite guilty, though, that I’m not a useful enough person. 🙂 🙂
