Did I ask you: have you read the book Factfulness by your compatriots Hans Rosling and his son and daughter-in-law?

Well…as much as I admired him, I haven’t read it yet. His books are on my list – always.
I just finished it and found it fascinating. I’ve long been aware that many people have incorrect ideas about how things are in the world, and this book gives many examples. Highly recommended.
I rejoice in your joy. In the second photo there is a very tall ‘something’ on the hill in the background behind you. It almost looks like a tall person!
Yes, glad you noticed him! ”The man from the sea” is a several meter tall sculpture standing there looking out over the vast ocean. I photographed the facts and they are on my computer. Going back from the summer house tonight – I will find it. Could not help smiling…if someone were to notice, it would be you😉
Oh, I am glad my ‘old’ eyes didn’t deceive me. I am keen to learn more!

Thanks Ann-Christine. The man from the sea and the story of his existence are beautiful.
Yesterday we still managed to reach 25c here in middle England (and so heavily humid). This morning we have grey cloud cover that doesn’t look like moving and it is still 22c and its only 9.10am. At least the little rain we had on occasions last week does seem to have helped the greenery recover much of its colour and life…rather amazing after the drought of the summer heatwave. But we still need much more rain, and that is not going to be appreciated when we start to get wet!!
Agree about some recovery and much more needed. Just listened to the radio about the low water in the lakes. The fear now is that they will freeze down to the bottom and kill what life remains after the drought.
I somehow think we will have an ‘over indulgence’ of water before a freeze (not that we had a freeze last winter) 🙂
😊
You look so happy. That’s a lovely photo.
I was happy, relieved, uplifted…I guess people who can stand heat must think I am crazy…but surely they can relate if they find winter cold difficult instead. The difference is the clothes. You cannot doff your skin…
My husband says the same thing – you can always add more clothes but there’s a limit to how much you can take off!
True
You look so happy in that shot. Wonderful to hear the weather is more comfortable for you now 😁
Trust me, I haven’t felt that relieved for years.
You look so happy 20 is a comfortable temperature we are at mid 20’s now, end of our winter, shudder to think what is ahead. But I’m enjoying what we have at the moment. Bush fire season has started early with 115 wild fires raging around the state.
O no…do you ever get ”used to” those fires? They come every year down there. I guess we will maybe have to get used to them as well…unfortunately. We should learn how to fight them from countries with experience.
Never get used to them, fortunately for us, this is not a fire zone. Our ”Firies” often go all over the world helping in major disasters.
The world is grateful.
😊
You look very happy!
I can tell you, I was. So much green, lush and cool at the same time after those horrid months. In fact I have not been that happy for years…;-D
20C is very pleasant, but it’s set to tumble here. There’s a Bank Holiday coming! 🙂 🙂
😊
Ooh, how wonderful! We can use it here…
I will send you some….
Enjoy!! We have been back to ”normal” weather for about 4 weeks now!
How great! I almost cannot stop feeling grateful – I hope we never, never will have a summer like that again.
Please see it across the Atlantic! Thank you 🙂
Here it comes…!
Sounds like a huge relief!
It is – I really don’t know that I ever felt such a relief before.
So pleased for you that the extreme heat has receded, A C!
😀 In England as well I hope!
Oh, yes!
