Frost has taken most of my autumn flowers, and bees and butterflies are almost gone. Every now and then, there is still a glimpse of sun – and a glimpse of life.
I’m not sure, but I suspect I’ve seen some in December, given how much warmer we are than you are. In addition to Eurasian honeybees, we also have many kinds of native bees, most of them solitary rather than colony-forming.
A lovely photo but the onset of Winter is simply part of the inevitable cycle of life and Nature.
Last weeks cold front (hit 11 below 0 F just a few miles south of me) left the tree leaves that hadn’t started changing colors green – but each day that passed – the green leaves were more brittle/dried/preserved in place and are in process of blowing off as the warm sun and gentle breezes here and there shine/blow across them – a little different, here, from my memories of how this time of year often plays out… :).
Hoppas också komma ifatt med besök hos andra, fast jag har inga problem med uppkopplingen. Snarare lite bekymrad över att dagarna och tiden går så rasande fort. 😂
Jo…jag håller med dig också – det gör inte saken lättare.
Oh so special … looks like one very happy bee 🙂
And in a hurry!
Fabulous macro!!
Thank you – he was enough still in the cold!
When is the latest in the season that you’ve ever seen a bee?
November, the first part. And you?

It is – but always a kind of sadness around it.

I can understand that. Beautifully described.
Well captured, you’ve given us an image with such clarity and details of the bee.
Thank you so much, Sally! Much appreciated.
Beautiful image. It always cheers me up to see a bee doing its busy bee work. We need them so much.
We do – and I agree with you, we need some cheering up.
What a wonderful shot, A-C! I do love seeing bees.

Me too!
En toppenbild och fint skrivet.
Tack, Anita! Jag hoppas komma ifatt snart med att hälsa på…nu har vi internetstrul.

Lovely shot. Hooray for bees.
Hooray for bees! Hope to see them next year as well.
Even our late blooming flowers have all pretty much passed with just a few here and there remaining. Even fewer bees now. Very nice, Ann-Christine.
Thank you, Steve. Wind and rain kills the last ones now.
I think this is beautiful, I shared it on my Twitter feed.
Cheers, and a lovely Monday to you!
Thank you, Amy – have a lovely day you too!
