We welcome another guest blogger this week, Miriam of The Showers of Blessings. She suggests we find reflections to share.
Believe it or not, but I found myself in some of mine…even though I never do selfies.
Reflect upon your present blessings — of which every man has many — not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.
―
Today, International Women’s Day, we might just change his quote a bit…and put in woman and women too.
Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?
―
Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, and you’re just a reflection of him?
―
Bewilderment increases in the presence of the mirrors.
―
When do I see a photograph, when a reflection?
―
A lake is a landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.

These images were made in Iceland, Stettin, Copenhagen, Bilbao, Norway and Switzerland. As usual, click to enlarge.

What a fabulous post!! Gosh I so enjoyed it … wonderful reflections dear Ann-Christine 🙂👏
Happy you enjoyed it – have a great Sunday!
Fun response to the challenge!
Thank you, Amy! I had fun with it!
A wonderful selection of reflections Ann-Christine, I especially love the boats in the header image and the funky reflections in the third xxx
Glad you like them, Xenia! In fact the red line in number three is a passing car!
Amazing! xxx
That’s a great collection, Ann-Christine. I appreciated seeing you four ways. 🙂 That third one is mesmerizingly good.
Thank you, Steve – ha, I wonder how many of me would be appreciated outside a photo ;-D. And that third one: the streak of red is a car passing by!
I love the Charles Bukowski quote. I’ll try to think back. 😅 Wonderful reflections especially the first one and the clouds in the water.
Thank you so much – and I guess none of us will remember…
I think you’re right. 😳
Great choices. SUPERB!
Happy you liked them, John! Thank you. I love reflections, and often photograph them. Mostly during Autumn when the colours are striking.
really liked the Bill Watterson quote and the photo right above it – but some fun takes on reflection this week…
I had some fun – glad you had as well! That quote is something I was thinking over many times when I was younger. And still do, in fact. Because – how do we know…
Haha – you are right –
We don’t really know –
And watterson was such a great comic strip author
😀

Great quotes and really interesting photos. I enjoyed this post a lot.
So happy, Suzanne – thank you!
All beautiful – the boat picture is quite special
It’s the light, isn’t it. Thank you!
Hi Leya. Your photos AND quotes are all superb!! I especially like the photo of you reflected in the four posts – it’s the best selfie ever. And the photo directly above it with the grey-scale grids is so mysterious, it calls out to the viewer.
Here’s my submission. I took the word ‘reflections’ in a different direction

Best, Babsje
Thank you so much, Babsje – for a person who never intentionally takes selfies – I am happy to have a couple anyway. Hard to avoid in mirrors…
You’re welcome. It really is a striking photo! Best, Babsje

Ohh…beautiful post, Ann-Christine. I love your nature shots and the selfies! The quotes are apt and profound. The Thoreau quote about the landscape is wonderful: ”It is Earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.” Very true. I hope you and your family are well. We are living in crazy times.
Thank you, Patti, so happy you liked the shots and the quotes. That quote is a favorite. We are well so far – hopefully you are too. Everything is crazy. Tough times ahead too. Staying calm to cope.
Lovely photos, Ann-Christine! I love them all especially the first one and the last one. What stunning photos you took in Iceland! Iceland is a beautiful place, I saw some of my daughter’s photos.
Thank you, Miriam! Yes, Iceland is a treat – always.
I think so,AC. Hope to visit someday.
You will not regret it.
I know, Ann-Christine.
Nice group of shots AC…great colors in the opening shot and I like how the snow on the bank guides you into the shot in the last pic. Well done 🙂
Thank you, means a lot.
My, you DO get around Ann-Christine😊. Love all of these ( suspect others might have found you odd for photographing yourself in
The loo tho LOL). Absolutely loved your bewilderment image
Ha, but I am…odd…always been. I consider it a plus!
Another beautiful, fun, and creative collection, A-C! The Icelandic light is stunning.
Glad you liked them, Amy – and nothing beats that light!
Lovely photo. I like the light and the tiny ripples in water in the featured one.
Thank you – Icelandic light is outstanding in itself!
Yes, I suppose because of that northern light. I loved the summer’s light in Sweden and Finland, and Iceland is even a little further north than the parts I’ve been to.
Yes – have you stayed some in our Nordic countries then?
A few months, one spring and another summer. There’s wonderful light in both seasons.
Ah, glad you enjoyed it!
These are stunning!
Thank you – so happy to share them!
Rephrase that, A C – you never do INTENTIONAL selfies! You and I have both found ourselves unwittingly in an image
True – we have. I should have put in intentional…
😄😄💕
Love them all Ann-Christine 😀😀
Thank you so much, Brian! Glad you enjoyed them – I do love reflections.
Some great images. Happy international women’s day ❤️
Yes – to you as well! ♥ Thank you!
So nice to ‘meet you’ at last, Ann Christine! 🙂 🙂 And I love all of your images.
Thank you, dearest Jo! Reflections are great, and with mirrors it is rather difficult to avoid yourself…
These are wonderful images. And I keep meaning to mention that I love the quotations you find to accompany your posts.
Thank you so much, Margaret. Means a lot to know!
Great images! Nice to see you in some of them 🙂
Thank you, Ana – suddenly I found two of them…on the other hand it is difficult with mirrors to avoid yourself… ;-D
Great pics!
Thanks!
I can’t choose my favorite reflection or reflective quote… they are all gems. How special that they also reflect the wonderful places you have travelled. ❤
Thank you, Jane – I love reflections – so glad you enjoyed them!
Your photos are an absolute treat and what an amazing way to travel around the world. Fabulous post!
Oh, thank you so much, Sheetal! Glad to share them with you!
