Beautiful shot, but I have to say that they look more than a little like some sort of alien creatures waiting to unfurl on unsuspecting people who come by. 🙂
In fact it was appointed number one edible wild plant in 2014 – in Sweden. Just pick them before they unfurl, boil or steam for some minutes and eat with butter and whatever spices with your dinner! In fact delicious. I had them in Bhutan first time, and googled to find out if they grow in Sweden – and they do. Quite rare, but I happen to have them five minutes away! I walk that path often and always wondered about the strange looking ferns growing there. They don’t look like other ferns at all.
An amazing photo..so artistic.
Nature is! Thank you
😃
Delicate unfurling.
It is always a treat, isn’t it – every spring!
So beautiful Ann-Christine!!!
Thank you, Paulo!

I did not know that you even get edible ferns! Beautiful photo Ann Christene
Thank you, Aletta. In fact I ate them first in Bhutan, googled them when in Sweden, and found out I have those five minutes from where I live!
How amazing!
Lovely fern, so frilly. I do like ferns but I didn’t know that any were edible.
