I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else.
― Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
We all needed a break, so we went to the west coast for a day. To walk by the sea. To sit in the fresh breeze. To wash away November mood.

We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep.
― William James
The seagull pic was my favourite. Really good pictures. 🌼
Thank you – I love that gull as well.
Beautiful! and love the William James quote!
Thank you – and yes, that quote is a good one.
I do live near the sea, but have hardly been to the beach this year. I can see it though from close to home and it’s nice to know it’s there. Something about the sea that calms us.
Yes, something about the sea… I guess it is in us from we are born.
Oh I hope your day at the beach is everything you wanted and more. Your photos are stunning 😀
Thank you, Cee – sometimes you feel what you need, and sometimes you can realize it! To be grateful for.
Thank you for taking us there, AC. I need it badly…
♥
Little better than an empty beach, I used to always go down to the beac h when I visited my mother
Beautiful autumn light and soft mood 🙂 🙂
You live by the sea, but never tire of it I guess!
I would love to be there too, minus the cold weather 😊
;-D Bring a winter coat!
😁
There’s little better than an (almost) empty beach.
Yes, Margaret, and I sometimes wish I went more often to the sea.
Me too. Just too far away…
😦
Lovely photos
Thank you, Sheree – I needed that walk.
😎
Oh my, what beautiful images. It looks like the perfect get a way place. Take care.
Thank you, Anne, yes, sometimes I wish I lived more close to the sea. But I have the forest instead.
Beautiful beach. Chilly but so peaceful.
A peaceful walk. Sometimes I wish I lived closer to the sea.
A lovely walk thanks Ann-Christine. I don’t think I would be tempted at that temperature either. I so love the Gull photo 😉
The gull, yes, isn’t he sweet? He waddled out to the edge later and settled there – he is on a roof – and kept an eye on the few people walking the beach.
