Thursday Thoughts – What Really Matters

These last few days of autumn, I have found out what really matters… besides food, mum, running free and playing in the forest…

You know…

Sharing all this with someone…

maybe is the most important thing…

Someone who understands exactly how things work – how I work…

Being an invincible team…

Love from me, Milo, and Totti ♥♥

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Slippery

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Slippery

This week’s photo challenge is about being slippery…and my photos are from our last trip to Iceland some years ago. A tour to the hot springs and Geysirs had me almost breaking my legs, arms and camera. Everything was covered in ice and icicles. And nothing to help you walk safely.

The rope rails were impossible and there was no sand in sight. My husband fell twice but nothing was broken. A day to remember.

Thursday Thoughts – A Double Farewell

These foggy mornings – forebodings of November grey – still have their own beauty.

My father just turned 85, and our daughter flew home for the celebration last weekend – despite having a big exam three days later. Love ♥

Driving her to the airport – she wanted a walk in our forest once more. So brother and sister walked ahead of us, chatting and laughing, but also talking about serious things.

Forests are good listeners. Up north, where she is heading, there are no autumn colours, only firs and pine trees.

So, when she left, this autumn’s last colours were mirrored in the little lake in the early morning light. I hope Emma will picture them in her mind during the long winter darkness in Umeå.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #15: Change and/or Changeable

There is nothing permanent except change

Heraclitus

This week Amy is hosting our challenge, and she lets us all have the opportunity to change the world…or the world in photos at least!

As summer is changing into autumn, so the colours here in Sweden change our perception of nature. I love autumn for its earthy scent and for its colours – only lasting for a few days, but what beautiful days!

My walks in the foggy mornings at Hammarmölledamm (a pond in our forest) this week, showed the area in a new mood every day. Fog and mist too are great changers.

Changing the original picture into something like a painting is easily done with different software, and great fun. Here is a water colour…

…and here is an abstract version. For both pictures I have used FotoSketcher. Which one do you like most? And how much does the framing mean to the picture – and to you?

Thank you, Amy, for the opportunity to Change!

Thursday’s Special: Pick a word in October – Y3

”Welcome to another Pick-a-Word Thursday’s Special. I hope that the choices I made for this month’s photo challenge will allow you a lot of liberty in interpretation.”

I always enjoy Paula’s (Lost in Translation) pick a word prompts – Here are my interpretations for this week!

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #13: Look Up!

Lens-Artist Photo Challenge: #13 Look Up

I have just returned from the Light Move Festival in Lodz, Poland – again. We were there last year, Viveka (My guilty pleasures) and I, and this year some of my best friends wanted to join me. Patty’s theme just seems meant for me – Look Up!

Piotrkowska Street

Lodz has a lot to offer visitors – even an enormous amount of art murals – outstandingly beautiful and worth walking for hours to see. Sometimes a lonely dog on a balcony as well…

Finally – Lodz has got some lovely parks to fill my lungs and eyes with as well! So, Look Up and you will be greatly rewarded!

Thank you, Patti, for a great challenge!
