The world through your eyes – This is almost a philosophical challenge. But, this time I could not resist the most obvious and straight -on way of interpretation… Here we go, three collegues (can you find us?):

Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves
Ranunkelsläktet eller smörblommor (Ranunculus) är enligt Wikipedia ett växtsläkte med omkring 400 arter (600 på den engelskspråkiga varianten…)som är spridda i nästan hela världen. De är fleråriga, har en kort jordstam som bildar sidoknölar och bladen är oftast handflikiga. De flesta ranunkelarter är fleråriga örter med gula eller vita blommor. Kronbladen är 3-5 stycken och har en karaktäristisk glans. Ranunkelsläktets arter är svagt giftiga. De flesta föredrar fuktiga växtplatser och många av arterna är vattenväxter.
Namnet Ranunculus betyder liten groda, och syftar på att den trivs på fuktiga växtplatser. Ranunkler odlas också som prydnadsväxter, och då är blommorna fyllda, vilket betyder att många av ståndarna är ersatta med extra kronblad. Det är den odlade varianten på min bild.
Who or what could have more curves than this wonder – the Ranunculus? The flower is one of my absolute favourites and is found in numerous colours. This bright yellow/orange is among the most striking ones.
Ranunculus is a large genus of about 600 species of plants in the Ranunculaceae. Members of the genus include the buttercups, spearworts, water crowfoots and the lesser celandine. The name, Ranunculus, means ”little frog”, and this because it prefers growing in humid places.

Wild Weekly Photo Challenge: Camouflage
Kamouflage är nog något vi alla önskat oss – åtminstone ibland. Att smälta in utan att bli sedd, hörd eller rörd…en dröm vid många tillfällen…För detta tema har jag valt gräsfjärilar och blåvingar från Pyrenéerna. Att smälta in för dem kan naturligtvis vara livsviktigt.
Who wouldn’t want to be disguised, melting in without being seen? I think all of us want to do that, at least sometimes. For many animals this ability is essential – to survive at all.
The online magazine LetsBeWild has Camouflage as a theme this week. I have chosen three butterfly pictures from the Pyrenées. Whether they are in the grass or on leaves or on the ground – they are neatly camouflaged all of them.
Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says
Skyltar – jo, det finns många roliga sådana. Galna, felaktiga, felstavade och felplacerade. Jag har använt mina roligaste i en tidigare utmaning, så…här kommer en som jag aldrig tagit med, för den känns en aning för tuff. Den satt på väggen i en pub i Scarborough.
Personally I found this sign a bit too rough…but it was put up on the wall of a pub in Scarborough. Anyway, I have used my more modest and funny signs in a challenge a while ago, so I give you this one with a bit of hesitation…
Wild Weekly Photo Challenge: Forest
Sedan barnsben är Skogen min tillflyktsort, min vän och helare. När jag är uppfylld av glädje går jag dit, när jag är nedstämd och grubblande och när jag är stressad och trött, och… Ja, skogen besitter den läkande och helande kraft som jag tror att vi alla behöver. Skratt och gråt och många förtroenden har han fått – och så har jag min specielle vän där uppe. Det är till ”min” skog jag helst vill gå med mina förtroenden, men jag älskar skogen som sådan, skogen var jag än befinner mig, skogens väsen.
The Forest is my friend to whom I turn with everything in my life. He’s my silent listener and helper, my friend in every mood. I go to the forest in joy and anger, sadness and melancholy. He always listens – soothingly in his beauty. When I leave him, he has blown away my troubles and he has laughed and played with me in my joy. ”My” Forest is the one I go to if I can, but I love all forests I come to. I want to go alone, though, if I can.

Weekly Photo Challenge: In the Background
Anvisningarna för den här veckan var lite svårbegripliga…åtminstone om man, som jag, varit mestadels förlagd till sängen hela veckan och inte hunnit komma i form. Kort sagt skulle man fotografera någon eller något som skulle varit i förgrunden men hamnat i bakgrunden – eller tvärtom…?
For this challenge – In the Background – I had to read the instructions at least twice. And I’m still not sure if I got it right?
Anyway. This is a photo of me (some buildings, a globe (?) and a street lamp) taking a photo of the street lamp shown in the picture. I was not supposed to be in the picture, but I somehow got a lot more than I asked for. I think it came out rather understandable anyway, but what the main thing is here – I’m not sure about. What I’m sure about, is, that this is Beijing.

Weekly photo challenge: Escape
This calls for some positive things about my school! We travel a lot and try to give our students other views than just the class room. Every autumn we have some days of fun and games to get to know the new students. Biking ant sleeping in tents is almost a standard procedure. During the rest of the year we try to go by bus for some interesting spots, visit a university and learn other things than we get in the class room. The second year we go away for almost a week and the third year we go abroad. We have been to, among others, Budapest, Berlin, London and Madrid.
Maybe you want to escape these fun and games, but you cannot avoid them entirely. Here are some photos of introduction days and from some travels. Nothing escapes the scrutinizing eye of a science student…And, as you can see, it’s sometimes the teachers who escape for a while…

Wild Weekly Photo Challenge: Scent
Doft förknippar jag gärna med blommor, men vid den här årstiden finns ännu inte så många av den varan.
En doft som varit oerhört markant och väl representerad under våren i vår skog kommer naturligtvis från de fällda träden. En ljuvlig doft, men samtidigt vemodig.
Scent often goes with flowers, but this spring the most vibrant scent in our forest comes from the fallen trees. A lovely scent, but one that brings sadness to mind – these beautiful trees are taken down and cannot be brought back to life again.
