Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Let’s Go Fly a Kite

With tuppence for paper and strings, You can have your own set of wings, With your feet on the ground, You’re a bird in a flight, With your fist holding tight, To the string of your kite. Oh, oh, oh! Let’s go fly a kite, Up to the highest height! Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring, Up through the atmosphere, Up where the air is clear, Oh, let’s go fly a kite!

I have posted him before, but this theme meant memories…

Almost exactly two years ago, I found this magnificent kite in the forest, lying on his back in poor condition. So – I took him to the expert to save him, if possible. At first he seemed not too badly hurt and for some days we had hopes for him to be able to fly again.

Unfortunately the veterinaries couldn’t save this beautiful bird – letting him go without him having full control of body and wings would starve him to death. So, my try to ”fly a kite” was in vain. At least I’m grateful for having given him a second chance.

I’m sure he is soaring somewhere up there now…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself

I don’t know if this is a proper example of how I express myself…but we had great fun – and that surely is a way of expressing oneself.

The three of us had been a whole day exploring British Museum, and on our way out, my son caught sight of this bench with sleeping people. Irresistable! So we sat down beside them and tried to look exactly as tired as the other ”benchers”. My daughter took the picture. Nobody noticed…they kept sleeping as we left.

# 129 I sällskap – In company (40/365)

Strangely enough I didn’t meet many people hiking this fine, sunny day. But by the lake there were many families cooking dinner by the fires, children playing and dogs jumping. This nice couple were marching down the gravel road.

Voltaire

(The Friends of Voltaire (1906))

”I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.”

Voltaire (The Friends of Voltaire (1906))

I prefer to sit by the window if I’m allowed to choose. And I’m a chair person – no sofa person. What kind of person are you?
