Doft förknippar jag gärna med blommor, men vid den här årstiden finns ännu inte så många av den varan.
En doft som varit oerhört markant och väl representerad under våren i vår skog kommer naturligtvis från de fällda träden. En ljuvlig doft, men samtidigt vemodig.
Scent often goes with flowers, but this spring the most vibrant scent in our forest comes from the fallen trees. A lovely scent, but one that brings sadness to mind – these beautiful trees are taken down and cannot be brought back to life again.

Kalhyggen är fruktansvärt att se – håller med. Jag lider.
Ja visst är de underbart att känna doften av de avverkade träden, men jag blir så ledsen över hur de kör sönder skogen med dessa mastodontmaskiner!….går ut tidigt i skogen på morgnarna med Annie och även doften av fuktig jord i den friska luften är ljuvlig…nu njuter jag inte till hundra procent eftersom vildsvinen huserar i skogen och jag har sprungit på de flera ggr, inte kul när de har kultingar…ha de gott!
Ha det gott själv! Jag hänger inte med så mycket just nu…är totalt belamrad av alla prov nu i terminsslutet.

The smell of gum trees after summer rain is the smell I miss most about Tasmania. In the meantime I’ve learnt that Finnish forests smell just as fantastic in summer, and nothing beats a wood-sauna fire starting up 🙂 lovely gallery!

i am SO in agreement with you; it hurts to watch the felling of trees, and i cannot agree that for every tree cut, another is planted.. they need to plant a thousand for each mature tree that is felled.
great post amiga.. i’m ‘elbow’ deep in a sweat-equity project – moving water lines and painting walls and hammering… i’m going to miss another wild weekly.. hopefully in another week i’ll catch up!

I totally agree with you about cut wood …. and wood that burns .. and wet wood … and to walk through a forest after a rain. Fantastic, priceless. Your gallery is great as always .. sound like an old record.
