Silence is a favourite sound of mine. And, Ese gives us the chance of showing what this essentially means to us. To me, it can be hiking an early morning alone in the mountains, and then enjoying the first rays of sun in silent awe of Mother Nature.
True silence is the rest of mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.
William Penn

Amazing shot!! The scale of the solitary figure against the massive outcropping is what makes this work! Is that you? 🙂
It is! Alone and very tiny in gigantic company!
Beautiful photo, brilliant quote. We so rarely have an opportunity to experience deep silence. What a pity that is.
Agree. I believe this is some of the things that make young people so unfocused – there is never silence. We also would need the experience of darkness – only the stars above and no artificial lights.
Oh definitely, re the darkness. And even though I don’t do it now, every one should know what it is to wake to the sunrise and to sleep by nightfall; ie to experience natural light rhythms.
Agree again.
I love the quote! Stunning photo, Leya!
Thank you, Amy! The sound of silence was crisp and clear that morning.
Awesome quote and silent photo! 🙂
🙂
Beautiful quote to go with a wonderful photo. I also really like the ‘snow’ that is now gently falling on your web page. 🙂
Thank you! Yes, the only snow so far this year here…let’s hope for the real thing too!
A-C, this photo screams silence !!!! I can hear it. Not a place I would find beauty in myself – would probably pass it by … but I can see why you captured it.
Oh, I know…but luckily we are all different!
Yes, you’re so right.
