One of my favourite poets is William Butler Yeats – here a poem for the WordPress’ Challenge Half-Light.

He Wishes For the Cloths of Heaven
William Butler Yeats
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Wow, this is a masterpiece. True magic, A-C!
Lovely evening – no sound except the silent waves…
A quiet drama being played out in this setting. Love this one.
I’m glad – the evening was so quiet and beautiful. I always prefer the sea before and after season…

Lovely photograph, A-C, and the poem is a good match!
Sue – I’m not that much for seascapes, others do them better than I do…but this one was good with the poem, as you say.
Wonderful post and pic !
Ciao ciao

Lovely comment to his lovely poem, Laura, thank you!
Beautifully captured! I didn’t know this poem before, and now I see it second time in a row, as I’m browsing blogs 🙂 Strange …
I’m glad you like it – I like Irish poets and novelists. Except perhaps James Joyce. ..I never appreciated his Ulysses.
beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Truly beautiful, both the poem and the photo! 🙂
You are always so kind, Amy – thank you!
