This week Patti has chosen to challenge us with Delicious, which means having a very pleasant taste or smell, or it can be used to describe a situation or activity that gives you great pleasure.
Few tasty things give me more pleasure than the first semla/fastlagsbulle of the year! These were temptingly standing in a window in Umeå some months ago. I can tell you they did not stand there for long…
The gardens and fields were filled with the most delicious scent, colours and shapes. I was in a state of euforia for 7 hours – the visit was a total dream. I had not been to this flower show since somewhere in the 90’s.
Interested in joining the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge? I guess you too have some delicious experiences to show us! For instructions and more information click here.

I looked up ”även för avhämtning,” which seems to mean ”also [available] for take-out [as opposed to eating in the shop].” Is that the gist of it?
Well done! I think the English speakers say ”takeaway”?
And Americans say takeout.
Ah, now I learned something new again!
In the United States we also order food ”to go”:

Thanks for the information!
The familiar look of the Keukenhof! Lovely flowers! I was there last year for only the second time in my life.
Did you enjoy the Keukenhof?
Oh yes! Had not visited for about 20 years!
Nice! And you were lucky with the weather too! It was chilly but so sunny! Curious to learn about what other Dutch adventures you may have had 🙂
Lucky we were – but the week before and after were 5-10 degrees warmer! Yes, more adventures to come!
True. But it started drizzling today, soooo…but yes, it’s much warmer now. April is weird like that. We even have a saying: April does what it will. We’ve even had snow in April not too many years ago.
Funny, it is the same saying here – and true it is!
🙂
deliciously beautiful!
Glad you like them!
I have seen a show about Holland’s flowers and so this post was another testament to their flowers – nice – and the old coffee gadget in the opening shot was cool – did you get to eat there?
Haha, thanks – those semlor were soon finished…And Keukenhof is a real treat to the eye. Go if you have the possibility!
Thanks –
Your flower landscapes are fantastic, Ann-Christine. What a feast for the eyes this must have been to witness!
Thank you kindly, Jane. It was a feast indeed, and it took us feasting the whole day. Thousands of photos to sort now…and myself too. We have guests already arrived for Easter, so, it will have to wait.
Very magical!
Thank you – it was. Even more than I remembered.
Oh, love the colours!
Glad you do! More to come when I get sorted…thousands of photos…
Oh, wonderful, I’m so pleased you got to Keukenhof, A C! I would love to go, but not viable with the amount of walking that would be needed, alas
Alas – yes, there is much walking to do. It took us seven hours to go through. And still, there was more to see. There are several stopping places though, with fika or real food. With some help you might make it! It is so worth it. I hadn’t been there for I think 20 years.
Wow – 7 hours!
The area is vast and the houses many. And some cafés on the way. Didn’t have time for them!
🤔
had to look up your semla/fastlagsbulle. It seems to be a bit like a hot cross bun here or in the UK, which also appear before Easter, though these are usually not served with cream, but are buttered. The flowers look lovely.
Ah, never heard of hot cross buns, so I will have to look them up! The semla is a treat to all Swedes and the rest of Scandinavia.
Oooh, delicious indeed! Beautiful images of the garden show.
Love your entry. Thank you so much for sharing, Ann-Christine! 🙂
Glad you liked them, Amy! Not sorted myself out yet – or the thousand photos…so more will come!
Look forward to seeing more… 🙂
Takes some time – thank you!
I can only imagine how amazing the flower show must be. Thanks for sharing photos of it.
How deliciously wonderful, AC ! What a great time to visit! Lovely shots.
Thanks, Patti – I really have not sorted either myself or the thousand photos yet. Arrived home yesterday only – so more will come!
Great.
Im so envious of your visit to Holland for the tulips Ann-Christine. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos – they may be as close as I’ll ever get!
Well, thank you – you would have loved it too. I came home yesterday, so no photos sorted really. More will be coming from the thousand I have…
