On my way home from Umeå, I had a few hours of waiting in Stockholm. I seldom visit our beautiful capital, so I took a brisk walk through Old Town and visited Fotografiska – the museum of Photography. A treat of course.
I posted some photos from Old Town and Vasa Bridge for Wordless Wednesday. And the dog in the window of course… At Slussen, The Lock, they were waiting for the new bridge to arrive from China – ”Guldbron”, the Golden Bridge”. I heard it arrived yesterday.
Standing outside Fotografiska, this is the view of ”Gröna Lund” , the big amusement park.
And in the other direction – The City Hall and the two biggest churches, Riddarholmskyrkan and Storkyrkan.
I feel I really should visit more often…
I’ve only been once, but really enjoyed it. We ran the Marathon years ago. I ate so many pickles along the route, I nearly got sick. LOL,
Haha, and I doubt there will be a marathon this year, so glad you tried it some years ago!
I was hoping to breeze through this summer, but 2020 seems to be a bad year for travel. But meanwhile, I have your photos
Well…I cannot but agree on it being a bad year for travel. I am happy to have other bloggers to ”travel” with!
I have had the opportunity to visit this lovely city only for one day so it’s always a pleasure to see all the things that I have missed out😊
Ha, we go so seldom (too close???) that I visit London more often. We always say we should go for a weekend, visiting friends and just walk around – let’s see if it happens this year…If we do, I promise to post on it.
Thank you Leya 😊
Well, it does look like a place worth visiting,A C!
Oh it really is – but you know…how often do you go to London?
Sometimes, up to once a month
That is more often than I imagined you did!
Never assume!!
Never…
😊😊😊
Definitely you should. So long as you take us along too.
Agreed, Margaret!
♥
😊😊
Of course ;-D
Brought back memories, the hours I spent walking in the narrow streets of Gamla Stan and Stockholm is as blue as I remember! Beautiful pictures.
♥
Thank for memories! I lived in Stockholm for two years.
You did! When?
1993 to 95, we enjoyed our time very much.
Happy you did! I have never lived in another country more than a month. It must be great.
