It is All About Cats…

In Plovdiv, the old capital of Bulgaria, it was all about culture and – cats. Everywhere in the streets, on window sills and in the parks.

And it seemed the yellow ones were those who ”owned the place…”

Others were peacefully sleeping on the window sills – at least in the old town.

In the newer part of the city, the competition was heavier…and the master himself both fighter and supervisor.

Back to Ireland – Ruins and Cows

Looking through my photos from Ireland – I found an old abbey I had not posted on. I am convinced there were not many visitors, as we only saw it from the car. We were looking for a nice place to have our evening picnic – I wanted cows and my husband wanted ruins – and we found the perfect place!

To get there, we had to park at the church, climb some fences and walk a straight gravel road over the meadows with grazing cows. Just my thing.

I wondered how this abbey had looked when new – it was still impressive out there in the middle of all the green. Not much sun, but we had our fruit and sandwiches sitting on the ground against the wall. The Irish landscape offers never-ending glory.

The farewell was accompanied by the most gracious crowd (in the header), and lastly by a lone beauty standing by the road. I really have to go back to Ireland – soon.

Dear Jo, I wanted to create a Monday Walk post…but now my computer is in for a total crash. In fact it is half way through. Fortunately I had a vague feeling this would soon happen…so I bought a new computer two weeks ago. But I think it is very troublesome to start up a new computer with new programmes and new ways of using them…So first,

I ventured out of my sick bed yesterday and as the sun was shining, I really tried to enjoy my walk. Coughing and dragging my weary body through the forest….collecting some pictures for you… before I slumped back into bed…totally exhausted. Hope you will enjoy them;-D

Thursday Thoughts – Granddaughters!

What’s in the picture? Well, today I had the honour of two granddaughters visiting – and I was totally overjoyed!

Even if they were much faster than me…and a bit more… agile? Youngsters – they do keep you alive and kicking, don’t they! They were both in for a haircut, though…but looked cool and modern with heavy curls hiding their eyes…Esther looks very much like her mother, Ella: White body and dark head. Mira has a wash of golden locks on top of her head…apparently inherited her father’s good looks. Welcome back you two!

WPC: Structure

The perfect structure of the wings is best seen when the wings are closed – this Vanessa cardui, known as ”the painted lady”, displays a wonder of delicate structure. It is not very common in Sweden, but some three-four years ago we had about 20 of them in our buddleyas. This year, I have only seen two of them – but two wonders!
