Weekly Travel Theme: Bright

Efter alla spöklika figurer från Halloween är det dags för mera ljus. Veckans utmaning från Ailsa handlar om ”Bright” . Titta gärna in på hennes sida och leta fram din egen favorit – eller lägg in ett eget bidrag! Det är både roligt för egen del och för andras, eftersom ju alla får en ny tolkning av ämnet.

För mig är det ändå blommor som bokstavligen skänker mig ljus i mörkret…och ett och annat konstverk förstås! Det fick bli en liten cattleya – ” Little Prince”, en påskkaktus och en bidrag från Vanås för något år sedan. På Vanås slott ställs konstverk varje år ut i den stora parken – mycket uppskattad och välbesökt. Konstnärer från hela världen är representerade. Boka gärna in ett besök till nästa vår eller sommar!

This week my entry for the Weekly Travel Theme must be a Bright one! What gives me more, really colourful, brightness than flowers? My cattleyas, my other orchids – and this time – a cactus! I also think art in itself often comes with bright and enlivening colours. Ailsa herself brought a beautiful humming bird, which I find a perfect choice.

Denna veckas tema handlar om par. Klicka gärna på länken för att se fantastiska bilder på olika tolkningar av temat, inte bara på människor och djur – utan, ja, det mesta …Min egen tolkning den här gången är baserad på bilder från Yoko Onos besök på Vanås, 2011.

My enterpretation of Ailsa´s theme for this week, Couples, is chosen from an exhibition at Vanås Castle in Sweden. We had the honour of having Yoko Ono here last year, and together with some Swedish artists, the exhibition was a complete success.

Travel theme: Animals

Den här veckans tema heter Animals – djur alltså. Ett svårt tema tycker jag. Till slut blev mitt bidrag till en liten kavalkad, en vandring från skir flykt, vidare över nyttodjur till ren turistattraktion. Klicka på någon av bilderna och sätt igång bildspelet!

This week´s Travel theme is about animals. Ailsa supports us all with new delightful themes every week!

Well, Animals is a tricky one – but very interesting. At first I didn´t know what to do with the theme…but then, when I started looking through my photos…I found some that I would like to share with you. I did not pick the great whales on Iceland, and I did not pick the alligators or the monkeys. Not the penguins either.

Here is my story from wild fragrance through useful domestication to merely showing off for tourists! Just click any picture to get the gallery going:

Lycaenidae in the early morning dew.

Humming bird hawk moth high up in the mountains. At first I thought it was a real humming bird – but surely that would be impossible. Just as big anyway!

Reindeer on the road…Not unusual up here in the mountainsof Sweden and Norway.

In a small mountain village, consisting of only two houses, we suddenly found this strange hen – (or?) perched up there on the wall together with the ”bell tower”.

On my way to work, I stopped the car and stepped out to have a look at the beautiful cows. But, who was the one to be looked at?

The sheep trusted the shearer completely. He was very skilled – it took him 1 1/2 minute to shear off the whole coat!

This lovely dog was chained to his ”house”. This is forbidden in Sweden.

Majestic eagle reduced to…a painful existence chained to its master.

Travel Theme: Foliage

Jag blev plötsligt inbjuden att skicka bilder på lövverk. Blad och löv – kan det passa mig bättre? Träd är ju en av mina stora passioner, så jag kunde inte låta bli att tacka ja! Det blev bilder från Nya Zeeland förstås, sedan Madeira och här hemifrån. Från högt uppe till nere på marken.

One of my newly found friends in the blogger world, Ailsa, kindly invited me to a Travel Challenge. This week it is all about foliage – a theme I truly love. But, of course that means difficulties…there are so many possibilities…

Finally, here is my contribution. High, low and in the middle!
