See more of the ugly truth here.
Camera lies all the time. It’s all it does is lie, because when you choose this moment instead of this moment, when you…the moment you’ve made a choice, you’re lying about something larger. ”Lying” is an ugly word. I don’t mean lying. But any artist picks and chooses what they want to paint or write about or say. Photographers are the same.

Pure perfection – I really like the quote you have found and the photos let us see, imagine, for our mind make the connections… Wonderful interpretation.
Now you made my day – thank you for a wonderful comment!
A-C, excellent combination of photos and the quote. It’s hard to see the beauty in the ugliness, but you have managed very well. The quote is so good.
Viveka, I agree completely about the quote. I like it.
ugly and beautiful 🙂
😉
Vackra färger men skrämmande vatten … Föredrar det klara vattnet i nån fjällsjö 😉 … // Maria
Jo.
Interesting quote, very true. Photography is all about how we want to see something and perception or a viewpoint and not necessarily how it is in reality. But that in turn is also the beauty of it. Just like your photos are quite nice photos of an ugly subject of pollution.
I agree completely. We choose the part we want to show off, to enhance, and this is of course nothing you can lable as the ”the truth”. Always only details and parts of the truth. The truth filtered through my eyes, your eyes and so on. And through my, your, anyone’s lens and further out – experiences. So – is there really a ”truth”? I think not.
Interesting quote and pairing with the photos – the big picture being the pollution and havoc we wreak upon our planet but, when encapsulated within the frame of a photo I see beautiful light playing on the surface of the water and in the grasses. Lies indeed.
Thank you for an excellent interpretation!
Not ugly at all. The last two are beautiful.
Thank you, Amy. It’s all from a sewage treatment works.
Not very nice objects but beautiful pictures!
Thank you, Sofia!
Wow, Anna Christine, even your ugly photos are beautiful 🙂
What is that green bubbly stuff?
The first one was intended as ugly and the other two making these bubbly things beautiful from a distance…Me hiding the truth! I know these waters come from a sewage treatment works…
Ah, now I see ugly in the green bubbles 🙂
Your photos are quite colorful and not ugly!
Well, thank you! I was thinking, the first one is ugly – but the other ones are from a distance, but the same view and objects!
