To me, Magical goes well with Countryside – I am a country girl. Even if I love to visit big cities, I know where I belong. This week, Amy is our host, and as I often post about my own countryside, you will get some pieces of Icelandic countryside instead. Iceland is a bit more harsh and rough, and we remember – once Iceland was only for the tough guys.
I consider it the best part of an education to have been born and brought up in the country. – Amos Bronson Alcott
The country is lyric, the town dramatic. When mingled, they make the perfect musical drama. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I long for the countryside. That’s where I get my calm and tranquility – from being able to come and find a spot of green. – Emilia Clarke
I really feel that my body craves to be in the mountains or by the ocean or in the countryside. – Miranda Kerr
I lived in solitude in the country and noticed how the monotony of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind. – Albert Einstein
The country life is to be preferred, for there we see the works of God, but in cities little else but the works of men. And the one makes a better subject for contemplation than the other. – William Penn
Thank you for all your Magical posts last week – they made every day into pure Magic!

Stunning photos and worthy sentiments. ❤
Thank you, Manja!
Beautiful shots. Great colors.
Thank you, John, glad you liked it!
Beautiful photos
Glad you enjoyed them!
Ever since I learned in school about Leif Erikson and his merry band voyaging to ”Vinland” (what is now Canada’s east coast), Iceland has always fascinated me with its unique geology, geography, history, and naturally, her people. And that in turn reminds me I would very much like to visit the Norse site at what is now L’Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland.
A fascinating story it is – and Newfoundland sounds interesting! I have seen some beautiful images from it, but …maybe I can look forward to yours someday!
Your photos are wonderful – I adore the leading lines you’ve captured and the pops of colors against the blue skies. I can see why you enjoy looking at that countryside!
Happy to have you with me there, Shelley – and I guess it is no secret that I love this country!
These are beautiful.
I hope I am not totally tiring you out with Iceland…so glad you liked them!
Not even close to being tired of looking at images of such a beautiful place.
♥
This is a country I would love to visit but it seems overrun with tourists these days, Thanks for the lovely views.
I think it is – but not compared to other European countries. And go winter time – and it will be almost empty. In fact people only seem to go to the biggest ”events” The Golden Triangle with Gullfoss, Geysers and Thingvellir sees many people. But never nearly as many as in Europe. I know you usually go early, Draco, before the tourists, and that is the thing. Almost everyone goes on bus tours and arrive at the same time. I promise you will be all alone most of the time.
Thanks for the information.
You are welcome.

Your love of the countryside shines through here, Ann-Christine. You are a country girl at heart, I think! Beautiful images, as always. I love the colors in Iceland. So vibrant. And that quote from William Penn is great.
Thank you, Patti – I am…! And the colours of Iceland are more vibrant than you might think, really. Glad you liked them!
Beautiful, AC. Really gorgeous.
😀

Leya, these are all so amazing. ❤️❤️❤️
So glad you like them – ! Thank you!
I can see why magical equals countryside in your world. Such beautiful photos and quotes.
So happy to share some of my favorites, Mandy!
While it is nice that it takes all kinds and good that some thrive in an urban environment, many of us do so much better when in the country. The air is cleaner, the pace s slower, and people in general take the time to know you. I’d love to be walking down the road in the first picture.
I would have loved to walk with you!
That would be nice, Ann-Christine.
Inspiration (literally inhale, breathe in) and the fresh air needed for it. Thank you.
I will gladly share it with you.
Beautiful light. Reminded me of my wandering through southern Sweden decades ago.
You were in Sweden then – yes, the southern part is dotted with lonely farms as well. You have a point there that I hadn’t thought about. Thank you!
These are wonderful captures of the country side. I would love to travel down those roads.
Souls soaring!
Lovely gallery, Anne Christine. Thanks for showing us the countryside of Iceland.
Thank you for commenting, Nurul. Iceland is a very special country – lots of space and fresh air. Not many farmsteads, and they are lonely situated.
I loved getting into the country with you Ann-Christine 😀
All so blissful! Lucky you 😃
♥
Brian, you are always welcome!
❤
Beautiful gallery Ann-Christine, have a nice week!!!
Thank you so much, Paulo – and you too!

Lovely images of such peaceful scenes. The quotes fit perfectly. Each photo with its own story to tell.
Happy to share the fresh country air of Iceland!
Lovely photos and quotes, Ann-Christine. They are so serene and peaceful, good for the mind and soul. Yes, a good place to belong.
Thank you, Miriam – serenity is important for mind and soul. And body. Glad you felt it too!
I’ve grown up a city girl in Hong Kong but I long for the serenity!
I know you love flowers and every living thing in your garden, Miriam! Life!
I’m glad I live in a quiet neighborhood, Ann-Christine!
Yes, that is essential for many of us! We are lucky!
Yes, we are. Ann-Christine!
Beautiful photos of countryside, calm and peaceful. Wonderful vast space that you can relax and breath fresh air. I love the image of the horses by the lake especially.
Thank you, Amy! A wonderful challenge, and your sweet images are delightful!
💗😊
Lovely photos of countryside, Amy! I love the head photo the best!
I think you are referring to AC’s Photo Challenge, and I agree with you.
Thank you!
Beautiful photos! Would love to spend my weekends to get away from the weekday city life.
Thank you – and your images often speak about nature!
Those blue roof tops sure stand out and enjoyed the quotes as the photos then did the talking
Thank you – photos talk better, sometimes.
Indeed they can – which is one of the reasons why we do some of these challenges eh?
;-D
Wonderful photos of solitude. ❤ Such peaceful images. Love the quote by Einstein.
So happy to share them! And he was right…
Yes he was. 🙂
Aaah, some wonderful images, A C!
