Well, looking out my window two days ago – winter was back again…

If only I had REALLY spell checked prior to sub mitting my first draft 🙂
And we are grumbling because the temperature has plummeted to 13 Celsius (noon Sunday, April 11), thanks to an Antarctic polar blast giving a taste of what is to come. This weekend it was forecast to snow down to 800 metres (we are at 115 m) so just cold! Love your photos especially the daffodils.

Thanks Woolly – hope you are getting some warmer winds now! Here it is snowing again.
Here too this week we had scattered snow showers – but only tiny amount and it didn’t settle. Everything looks lovely dressed in white but you worry about the plants recovering. It is still cold here but dry since.
Lucky you it is still dry – dry here as well, but Sunday the forecast says snow and hail again. The wood anemonies will not create a ”carpet” this year I think…they are already bent down and suffering from frost and snow.
Sono bellissime queste foto con la neve, spero che il freddo non rovini i bellissimi fiori,
Un grande saluto, Patrizia
♥ Always happy when hearing from you, Patrizia! Hope your spring is beautiful!
April snowstorms are frustrating – but boy it made for some beautiful photographs 🙂
♥
Oh dear Ann-Christine, poor little blossoms. I hope they survive the snow! The return of winter surely gave you an amazing photo op tho, didn’t it?! Beautiful!
A beautiful 20 minutes! Gone now, and the flowers made it too!
Love the Hepatica
Happy to hear, Sherry
I grew up hearing this little weather proverb: ”Late snow will early go.” That’s part of what made a spring snow so delicious. We knew it wouldn’t be around for weeks and weeks.
Wise saying! And it is gone here now –
Wonderful photos…Over us here its the same.Rain, wind, Hail then today it snowed. The local saying perhaps is true ” April, April, ich macht was ich will…” means, April do whatever he pleases…:-)
Sounds correct!
Winter always seems to have a sting in its tail…. we to have swung from record highs to below freezing and a touch of snow, all in a week. Outlook not good either. Nothing we can do to change the weather menu 🙂
No…have to follow the menu.
Oh dear…..as you say, those poor Scilla….
Survived!
April does like to play around in your part of the world 🙂 🙂
😀 Warming up with your photos instead!
Oh! Winter’s quite serious about it, but lovely photos as usual. Spring will return …
Sunny today! But windy and very cold. Brrr
Beautiful photos (and I see some sunshine too)! Same weather in Belgium – a mini-winter replay. It seems to be gone now.
ps The dog seems to be having a blast.
Florin, thank you – and sorry you had the same mini-winter too… We have sun today though and the snow is gone – And Totti and Milo loved it…their coats are the thickest kind and that makes winter their best season!
April – thou art unfair ! We laughed at what happened on your first day . . . you did not have to tease and test ys and send the snow !
😀
So beautiful but I hope the flowers survive. I remember times like this in Illinois and Ohio. 🙂 Beauty, but possibly killing beauty.

So far they are alive – hope there will be no more snow now.
I scraped frozen, wet snow off the car on April 1st. Today was spring like and we hit 20°C.
Ah – we do have a very cold spring and have barely reached 10 degrees yet.
I’m sad that snow threatens to destroy these spring flowers, but so glad you shared these scenes with us. I rarely see snow in springtime, so this is fascinating.
Fascinating it is – and a shock to look out the window…They seem to have survived though, and the snow is gone.
Wonderful images of this surprise snow. I hope your plants survive.
Love these, especially the brave colourful flowers doing their best despite the surprise snow!
…and they survived, most of them!
Such lovely photos, but I hope spring returns to you soon.
Thank you, Jude – at least the sun is shining!
Lovely photos but I hope the winter will not come to us here in Ontario!
Is winter gone over there then? The snow is gone today, but soooo cold in the wind.
Winter has gone this week for sure. Sunshine and temperatures well above normal. 21 degrees Celsius today. Next week cooler but not cold.
Nice weather in the 20’s – just enough for me! We see no warm weather ahead.
The weather we are having here is not normal at all. But with all the Pandemic stuff and lockdowns it is a wonderful relief to at least have good weather and be able to go outside in comfort.
True.
You may be wishing for more spring-like weather, but the snowy flowers make for wonderful images, Ann-Christine. 🙂
I must agree on every point, Jane – thank you for taking time to comment. Hope you are having a lovely week.
Beautiful snowy scenes Ann-Christine 🙂 🙂
Gone today – and the flowers seem to have survived!
That is so good. A bit of cold water to help them grow 🙂
There is a saying in Sweden: ”Aprilsnö är fåragö” which means about what you are saying!
Oh my, you’ve got snow too! My Ljubljana has it as well. Over here just really chilly wind. Let’s blow it away.
You have? Yes – let’s blow it away! Today the sun is shining, but sooooo cold.
