Thursday Thoughts – Morning and Evening Light
We all know the difference…but how to put it in words?
There is a difference between showing and telling. Every writer knows …and so do photographers. In order to tell a good story you need to practice showing too.
Can you tell me what I have shown you? Light – mornings or evenings?
Thursday Thoughts – Late Evening Walk
After a really cold and wet spell, we’ve had som glorious evenings. I’d love to have you with me for a late Spring walk.
It seems never is the light perfect for photography 24 hours a day – but, right now it is.
The numerous marsh- marigolds shine in the darker areas…
…and in the last sunlit meadow, buckbean stand like candles along the path.
Time to return home before it gets too cold – thank you for letting me borrow some of your delightful company!
Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #140 – A Change of Scenery – Hunting for Spring
A Change of Scenery – Our guest host, Beth, challenges us to show images of somewhere different from where we usually like to take photos. It doesn’t have to be far from home, and photos from the archives would be good, too.
There were many fallen trees covered in mosses, some with rolled up bark sleeves – and I happily noticed that the lapwings are back!
Last year’s leaves lingering, waiting for youngsters to let them go… and catkins heralding the spring, but …
Thank you all for sharing your special moments with us last week – very positive and inspirational! – and some tears as well…
Click here to visit Beth’s beautiful “A Change of Scenery” of a small town on the Gulf Coast of Florida. We hope you will join us. In your post, please include a link to her original post and use the Lens-Artists tag so everyone can find your post in the WordPress reader.
Thursday Thoughts – Searching for Orchids
I mentioned in my delicate colours post, that I originally went out to find the orchids –
– but they were not yet there. I guess it has been too cold a spring for them.
The yellow archangel is another favourite in May – lightening up the forest shadows. Just like angels should.
When I silently reached the wetlands the air was filled with nightingale song and…
…my heart was filled with bumble bees.
I was not alone on the hike, several elderly couples were out with backpacks of ”fika” – the best Swedish word ever…
This boardwalk leads over the orchid fields – but the only flower to be found yet, is another beauty –
– bogbean or buckbean. I find it almost as lovely as an orchid anyway. It will be my closing image before returning home again on the dirt road. Getting hungry now!
And…it is not me who’s been running over the furrows…
Tuesday Photo Challenge – Road
For Frank and Tuesday – a road I often take to come to the orchid marshes.
