Amy is our host this week, and she suggests we look for layers. Have a look at her inspiring post from Plitvice, Croatia!
Here are some layers from my favorite world of mountains, rocks and stones. In the header – the Pancakes of New Zealand, South Island.
And last, Iceland, south west part, Snæfellsnes peninsula – the cave at Hellnar. Look closely, and you will find a mink looking for young gulls nesting, or some eggs for dinner.
Hope to see you joining in the fun!
Fantastic rock formations!
They really are, Tatiana –
Great images, especially the Giants’ Causeway.- which I found very hard to get the right angle on. Excellent job. Have a nice weekend.
Thank you, dear Viveka! Hope your weekend is good too!
Weekend??? Just like another days … as a pensioner .. *laughing … so far so good.
Well…the difference is that everybody else is free and roaming the streets…:-D
Yes, you’re right … clever as a owl.
Ha – that is you!

hi a. c., two interesting photos that you chose for the theme, both of which I like very much, well done a. c ..
greetings robert
Thank you so much, Robert!
Gorgeous photos!
Thank you kindly!
Layers of rock are some of the best miracles of nature. Such history there! The patterns and shadows are so unique. Beautiful photos.
Thank you very much! I love natural layers too!
You’re most welcome!
Such interesting, layered formations created by nature’s forces. The Ireland one is most curious.
Wondeful to view this selection, Anne-Christine. 🙂
So glad you like them, Olga! Ireland is my favorite too!
Fantastic choices.
Nature is! Fantastic!
Amazing rock formations. The Giant causeway looks incredible. I can just imagine the stories made up about them.
Try Wikipedia – fantastic story!
Stunningly beautiful examples of nature’s layers, A-C! Gorgeous. I love your shot of the Giants Causeway in Ireland. I’m sorry we didn’t get there. I had to smile at your inclusion of Iceland. You love that place!
Haha….I just had to…yes! At least it made you smile!
It did!
Super cool and of course, you had to slip in an Iceland image!! I have Never seen a mink before!
Of course…I had to! Minks are beautiful animals – and rather smart. But the birds do not agree…
Giant’s Causeway is such a remarkable landscape. And I much prefer to see a mink hunting rather than wrapped around somebody. 🙂
amen!!
!
Agree on both!
Great shots.
😀
Beautiful, and I like that half hidden detail in the last one.
Mmm, he was a fast one, but stopped for some seconds – for me!
Layers of strata! Igneous eruptions! What a terrific response to the layers challenge.
So glad you liked it, Anne! I love such natural layers.
Excellent examples, A C!
Thank you, dear Sue!
You are most welcome!
Excellent selection of layers, Ann-Christine! Nice job of spotting the mink. Well captured!
Thanks, Sue – in fact he came scurrying up the rocks and stood still for a sec so I could catch him! Just luck!
Live the pancake rocks especially A-C, but all are great examples of natural layers! Terrific response
Thank you, Tina – they came natural (!) to me!
I love these later rocks
Me too! Thank you!
Can’t beat the natural layers! I love rock layers, these two are great choices, AC!
Thank you – and thank you for a great challenge, Amy!
Fantastic layers, A-C, in all directions.
janet
😀 Thank you, Janet.
rock formations always amaze me. nice selection.
So glad you enjoyed them too, Klara!
I love the natural layers in these photos. My favorite is the Giant’s Causeway.
Mine as well – there is something very harmonious about it – and golden.
Some amazing geological formations there, Ann-Christine. I have a soft spot for the Giants’ Causeway.
Mmm, so have I. Love the golden hues.
Nice set. I was initially going with a similar interpretation of the challenge but changed mine.
Rocks are endlessly engaging. What a great take on the challenge.
Thank you, Margaret!
Lovely layers of natural rocks Christine, first time I am seeing something so well cut! 👍😊
😀 haha, well…at least I did not do it…;-D
