My lilacs got ‘nipped’ in the bud twice this wackadoo spring of stretch of unseasonably warm days, followed by cold fronts/freezing temps, but still, Mama lilac bush and 3 of the transplanted seedlings from 2013, managed to to put forth some blooms – – I do so love lilacs! And they survive here better than anything else I’ve tried planting on my place, though the native plums and wild roses are a close second!
