I hope you will forgive me if I post more of Vincent…he fascinates me.

Another gallery of his, with country life, self portraits and his beloved sunflowers.

Can you believe that throughout his life, he sold only one or two pictures…out of his more than 2000 works of art.
Thank you. I never tire of Van Gogh and the impressionists!
How could we?
These are great, Ann-Christine. he is one of my favorite artists.
❤️
No need to ask permission to share more Van Gogh. I myself can’t get enough of it.
I always drop by the Van Gogh museum whenever I visit Amsterdam. Thanks for sharing this visual treat.
What a marvelous exhibition! Thanks for sharing some of it. When I was in Europe in the 70’s, I visited the Van Gogh Museum and as captivated. I hadn’t thought that much of his work before but it was amazing.
Yes, thank you. I too have been to that museum and was overwhelmed.
Wonderful paintings by Van Gogh reflect the hard but at the same time peaceful life in the countryside.
❤️
Looks to be a well-curated exhibition, and I rarther like your silhouetttes of people in front of the paintings
Dear Ann-Christine,
we love van Gogh’s style, the dynamic brush strokes and his colours.
I partly grew up not that far from Otterlo/NL where the main collection of van Gogh picture was shown. They showed the pointillists there as well what made me aware of this influence on van Gogh’s pictures. It was a time when the theory of seeing colours was discussed in science and art.
Van Gogh is a kind of bridge between classic and modern art.
Thanks and all the best

The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you for more interesting facts!
His country scenes and characters are extraordinary. I think it’s coming to Seville too.
Ah, good!
This is still on offer in York. You’re persuading me to go. I thought it might be a bit of a catchpenny in Glorious Technicolor, but it seems to be more than that.
I don’t completely understand, but it seems not to fit the real rxhibition!
Please go!
Realy a fascinating exposition of one or our famous painters.
Indeed it is
An incredible man and artist. Really looking forward to when the exhibition arrives here
❤️
Not just the paintings are important here – the exhibition has been put together in a masterful unforgettable way . . .

He fascinates me too – more often in his life history than in the various creative leaps he made in the ‘art of making art’ that only keen eyes and art lovers truly appreciate on all the layers of his work that drove him forward, always (or mad, or crazy, or to drinking – LOL)
